Especially when the said car does not have seatbelts.

Its still got windows...and doors, kind of. Extreme, you should start making that thing safer before you unleash it again.

Too much weight. I wouldn't either.

your right, a life is way not worth 25 extra pounds. VPT, whats a chromoly 4 point cage way on average?

I would at least add a 4 point cage and for sure get a 5 point harness.

I don't imagine extreme will be able to race at to many tracks without a cage.

The 2007 NHRA rules state any car in the 11s will need a cage. That means quite a few people will have to get a cage or stop going to the track.

Personally I think a cage is a good idea on a race car. But it just isn't practical on a daily driver like the EVO.

Well, WIR and RSD use IHRA rules i believe, which are less strict(from what i remember). Extreme also ran an 11.3, at RSD, where they don't care for saftey that much either. Hes got a good system to get hurt going.

Do you know how long it takes to get 80-100 pounds out of a car that already has 500-600 taken out of it. If I crash, will not have to worry about making car go fast anymore........................

No crash, no need for shit like that. Just hope you aren't racing a 350Z, I hear they don't like fast Talons.

If you are racing and the guy next to you does something stupid that cage might not be such a bad idea. Hell even having a cage in Darth wouldn't be soo silly considering the speeds we hit on the road course (or simply on my way to work). I think the EVO is a fairly safe car even without a cage. All the roll over and crash pics I've seen keep the cabin in decent shape. Now 15+ year old sawzall'd dsm or crx with a nitrous tank in the back might not be so safe.
