I'm gonna start another lifting routine and would like a work out parnter/spotter. I plan on lifting every other day but it would be nice to have one day a week that I could focus on lifting heavy.

I have a bunch of weights in my basement so no gym membership is required. If someone else also has weights we could lift at your place or bring them to mine to mank an even better setup.

I'm available pretty much any time after 6pm any day of the week so it doesn't have to Wednesday I just figured after a Marvins Monday and Taco Tuesday you may want to work off some of those extra cals.

Let me know.

I would like to get into a routine, but just weight lifting does not do it for me. I'd rather burn off the calories playing a hard game of basketball for a few hours.

We playing tonight again? I go to sentry about twice a week to work out, and when at school, i work out whenever i don't work. I agree though, i love actually doing something. MBM is only a couple months away!

That's great that you play BB on Wednesday. Anyone interested in lifting any other day? I went to Dunhams today and found a few more things for my gym. I'm still looking for a fly machine and a couple more 45LB plates. Anyone have any they want to sell?

VPT, the above picture is no excuse because that is your wife's workout stuff. I highly doubt you ever use it!

I would be all for a "workout Wednesday" if it was something other than lifting! It seems for the past 2 years all I do is work, work, eat and sleep and I badly need to get back in shape.

I would like to attend MBM on a regular basis again if only we could make the time earlier. I might have to leave my bike at someone's house since I live out in the boonies now.

Maybe instead of having all of these fast food days we could do like a Subway Saturday or salad Sunday -- something somewhat healthy.

I like to eat fast food and I'm pretty sure I can continue to do so as long as I burn off a sufficient amount of calories each day. Lately I've been lifting about once every two weeks and that is pretty sad. Meanwhile my computer desk is collecting candy wrappers and empty Mt dew cans.

Since I can't seem to find a taker for the "home gym" I might have to get a membership to a real one.

Membership? Your a Sentry Employee, go get your little green card and have at it! Hell i bet you can get away with using mine if you need to while i'm at school.

MBM this Monday. It's a little cold so we'll all need to toughen up a bit. We could bike to Marvin's then catch a movie. 8)

Salad Sunday - Damn that sounds too healthy.

No WMBM, your supposed to enjoy it, not have it ruin a perfect night.

They don't have a free weight bench. I also don't like working out with the same people I work with at the same place I work. Get the picture?

I've logged about 4 miles total on the bike thingy and lifted the weights a few times.

You could try Elite Muscle and Fitness. It's located where the old Club Fit use to be. I was a member of the Fit Zone for women and they closed unexpectedly and so this Elite Muscle and Fitness is honoring our Fit Zone membership. I went and checked it out and they have a really nice set up, whether it be lifting or cardio. The membership fee is very reasonable as well.

You could also try the Adventure 212 place. I checked out their facilities and they are pretty impressive. Membership fee, from what I've seen, is pretty comparable to other places that offer the same amenitites.

With the YMCA so close to my house it would be a tough to go anywhere else unless the price was super sweet. I should check out 212 just to see what its all about. A guy from work took a tour and claimed it was "pretty nuts".

They have bikes that lean and have large video monitors that simulate driving down a trail. You can also race other people on bikes around you.

i've been really considering the Y as well due to location. i really need to get into shape. JJ, if you get a membership at the Y i most definetely would. i need some motivation by someone else to go and workout, etc.

i have bradley about half the week, so those days are out... but i know i'd make use of it on others days w/ some motivation. price for me was like $32/month at the Y. i've already checked into that even. i might just do it come february. let me know what you decide.

i don't need anything fancy like leaning bikes and trails, it'd be cool yes, but i think i'd be okay with a normal bike and treadmill, etc.

Hey Evil, I have a Bowflex Revolution at my house. I could be down with a workout night. Although it is winter which means I spend at least three days a week snowboarding. So at this time I would only want to do 1 or 2 days a week max.

Just got done with a fairly heavy work out. VBGurl joined me. It was nice having a work out partner. I'm still shopping for a better treadmill. We have a pretty old one but it does the job.

As for one piece of gear .... you would be "working in" at the Y much more often than you would here.

I have a Pro-Form treadmill and I absolutely love it. Has all the programs to help do whatever you want, can be hooked up to the internet for additional programs or to track your progress, but can also be used to just run in place. I find it is easiest and less irritating to have a tv in front of me. That way I can concentrate on the movie I'm watching rather than how far I have left to go! Two and a half miles a day for me at 7 mph! 8)
