Take advantage of those coil-overs and better balance your car. Determine cross weight and adjust suspension height to create a more natural car. Level out the left/right side for a 50/50 weight distribution. Just like an engine, modifying something requires tuning!

Some of you drag racers may want to do this as well. Due to torque-twist on acceleration, a RWD drag car tends to lift the left-front and right-rear tires. By adjusting accordingly, you can reduce the lift to better distribute the weight over your "power" wheels.

To re-coupe money on the scales, I am offering $45 to corner weight your car. The scales are to be used in my garage, for a few reasons. One, they are expensive, two, they require a perfectly level and flat surface in which I have setup in my garage. Also I made up some excel files to use as a tool for balancing the car.

Also it’s best for the driver to be there at time of balancing as he/she should be in the car. Also a helping hand is sometimes nice too.

Where did you have it done? What are the numbers?

AMS in Chicago.

With a 1/2 tank of fuel.... gutted trunk.... ballast for my weight.
Total weight 3430

LF 1069 RF 1023
LR 688 RR 650

Cross corner: 50.1% / 49.9%
Front to rear bias: 61% / 39%

I didn't notice any difference in handling at all. The only thing different was the rake and I don't like it at all. I'll be working on the car tomorrow. Lowering the front and adjusting the HIDs. I also have to install the JDM rear and hack up my exhaust to make it fit correctly. The numbers are going to be off but I don't really care since the balance of the car changes completely simply by adding fuel or having a passenger. Even something as simple as air pressure changes the numbers. Then theres the science of sway bars that is another deal all together.

For $45 you can't go wrong but most places around here charge $200 to get on the scales.

sway bars SHOULD NOT effect your corner-weights unless there is pre-load on a paritcular side, and if that is the case it should be corrected.

thats one heavy car you got there.

may i ask what you paid to have the car corner-balanced?

Very nice guy!

Is that the v-2 car or whatever its called?

Everyone relocates stuff like the battery for help on CBing. But there is stuff people don't think about like exhaust routing that can help balancing.

AMS charged $150 it was a "special". Most places run over $200.

How far off was yours when you started?

Acctually those reatings you see in the pics are the first time i put my car on the scales. The guy i bought DizmmV.2 was a suspension nut. I have not changed a SINGLE thing at all on Dv.2 yet. I have today off so I think i will spend some time in the garage workin on her.

Very nice. It must do something because all the high rollers swear by it. Once I get the ride height set on Darse I'll swing by and have you check it out.

I have some minor weight reduction plans but not sure when I will take action on those. Stuff like a mini-battery, light weight crash beam replacements, and I'll probably go back to the BBS/Advan combo for racing.

Where did you pick up the scales? The look like their in like new condition.
