Madison Sports Car Club is putting on a rallycross at South Wayne, WI (south of Madison) on Dec. 9th. $30 entry fee.

The Shadow of Death is supposed to be there. Better get some snow grips for that puppy.

Is this still a formal rally-x event hosted by the fvscc with timing stuff and all?

Why was the event cancelled?

SgtRauksauff
12-07-2007, 09:32 AM
DAMN!!! That really sucks, because there's no way the RallyBuick™ can be driven up there. Which means I'm going to have to trailer it, Which I really don't want to do on these roads, especially since my tow vehicle doesn't have snowtires, and has one caliper that likes to grab a bit when it's wet out.

Too much snow my ass!! They've got tractors, with loader buckets on the front, MOVE the snow!!!

I might end up just driving the pansy-mobile green escort or something.. :(

This will not be a formal event. A CWSCC get together. Yes we will do timing. Winner gets all the marbles.

There was too much snow at South Wayne so I was told.

Better leave Dv2 at home. DvPP would be a much better choice.

Cost? - With tax, license fees, track dues, cleanup costs, shop fee, club dues, and spectator admission it should come to about $0.00

Time? - What time do you guys want to start?

Directions? - Head south on I39 take the Bancroft exit. :D There may be directions here: www.geocities.com/cwscc2001

dunno if i can make it there by 3... i work in rapids... hmmmmm... major speeding will need to be done by the Corsica... :D

Track (Creekside Corners Raceway) update:

A 4WD full size Chevy drove out a course today. Made it through the snow without any problems. After about 15 laps it was packed down enough for the Craprice to make a run. First run the Craprice made it through - slowly, but she made it.

A couple of snowmobiles came out to help pack down the snow which helped out somewhat.

Final analysis:

The track is a combination of snow and sand. Some bumps, but they are very soft. Deep soft ruts in parts. Of the 20 or so laps the Craprice completed I had to be pulled out about 15 times. It's a challenge just to make it around without getting stuck. If I went slow it was fine, but as soon as I pushed the car the front end would plow and send me off the track and stuck. I believe any all wheel drive vehicle would be fine, but any 2 wheeler will be struggling.

Devlish (Jeep) vs. Dizmm v-PP. The Jeep had to be trailered home.

Dizmm v-PP was the last car standing, but eventually she fell too.

We need a tire changing machine out there.

Thats some of the most fun I've had in a while. Thats the first time I have been chased in a car with someone trying to ram us. Devlish performed a good PIT maneuver on the shadow of death, maybe he should get into law enforcement. I would being willing to do it again, but the track got pretty tore up. Its too rough for the dsm, I still care about the car and I use it for daily transportation. It would be nice if we had a way to groom the track.

TomKat
12-09-2007, 08:37 PM
The grader is available, but the ground is sand and won't compact at all. We could change up the track to avoid the bad spots.

agreed. i haven't laughed that hard in a long time... both dizzm and i were driving through tears from laughing so hard during the full contact chase scenes. a camera would have been the ultimate!!!

yes, the jeep was trailered home... but she took a beating to get there. and $10 and 30mins later, she was running again.... but not without further casualities. i will be looking for a front grill and all lights, muffler, as well as filling my trans fluid regularaly now it appears. still a fun time. should have installed a cow-catcher prior to this weekend. owell.
