A guy at work recently hit a deer with his 1996 Honda Civic LX. It deployed both airbags and cracked the windshield. Some very light front bumper damage. The car runs and drives great but has 245k miles on it.

The insurance company said the buy back is $675.

Is the car worth that? The miles are very high but I bet it would still make a decent ice racer.

sounds decent. new airbags for both sides, and new windsheild to get it registered again, since it's obviously titled as salvage if the Ins company totalled it. so you'd have another $600 into it probably with the airbags & windshield. the front bumper is minor, ebay bumper and some paint.

Heres the full story.... his insurance company cut him a $3500 check to fix it. I told him to pocket the cash and sell the car as is with a clean title.

He thought it over and agreed so the car is available right now. He doesn't want to fix any of it just sell the car for $675 firm with a clean title.

So nothing really needs to be fixed unless you want to fix the spidered glass ($237). The airbags can be yanked and glued shut!

I can't decide if I want it or not. Anyone else interested?

fuck. for that price i'd snap it up if i had a place to put it. your right, close up the airbag holes and fix the windshield and drive it for $800!!! that's a good buy then if you ask me.

i wish i had a need for another car... but i honestly don't. dammit.

Yes Dizmm picked it up last night. I think it was a screaming deal.
