maciah was over last night, and suggested that a few people might be going to GLD on Nov 24th. since he's not on this forum... i thought i'd ask the opinions of others, if anyone is interested?? seeing as how byron got cancelled this weekend, maybe some are up for GLD later this month.
that's all.

You should run your car.
As much as I would like to end my well rounded season of auto-xing, lapping days, dyno runs, and street racing with legit strip action, I think I'm gonna pass.
That is Thanksgiving weekend. We normally get snow and its usually quite chilly. Not a big fan of freezing my arse off.
How about having a LAN party instead!
I'd be up for a LAN party, I recently purchased BF 2142 and Counterstrike Source :) I ran regular BF2 on my puter flawlessly. Plus I haven't done a LAN party since last winter. Anyone else be up for this. I'll bring the soda, chips, etc.

EVILUTION
11-24-2007, 08:10 PM
I wasn't able to launch as hard as I do on the street. A hard launch created wheel spin and wheel hop. I ended up launching without boost so the clutch held ok.
I have an Exedy Twin Disk sitting on the shelf waiting to go in.
I'm more pissed about having to run to 8k rpm than having a shitty launch.

11.9 that's awesome. 8)
116 mph. Damn.
EVILUTION
11-24-2007, 11:26 PM
Yes...
The 12.0X@114 runs were made with launch control but not building boost. Simply hitting 5500 and dumping the clutch. Thats why all the speeds are lower.
The 11.97 is LC with about 5lbs of boost and wheel hop. You should be able to see it on the video (whenever they get posted). I normally see 12-15LBS.
The clutch didn't like higher boost and sticky tires at the autox.
Todays runs were made on fully inflated frozen snow tires.
BUT.... enough about me....
The other cars hauled ass as well.....off the top of my head...
Micaiah ran an 11.68 with a 50 shot and the GSXRated pulled a 13.0 spinning off the line and without NLTS!!!!
Not sure what the MPHs were though.

Going from 11.68 to 10.99 takes a ton more, I would say maybe another 100 on top of that 50 shot might get him there. Ive been fighting with this same goal since mid-summer, and I only need just under 2 tenths to go 10s, still cant find the extra power.

Miciaih knows hitting 10s on the laughing gas alone is a reach. He mentioned having has a master plan for the off season. Like Dizmm it could bring a V2 version.

She needs to uncork that exhaust and then crank the boost. i think the race gas, along with more timing, and it would be a 12.99 car for sure. the timing was still pretty safe, only about 15' - 16' of timing, with race gas we could have added a little more timing, upped the boost, kept the knock away... and probably ran a 12 second pass. however, a 13.0 is still pretty impressive for a catted-car if you ask me....

I was reviewing logs from Saturday.... One of the main things I noticed between my logs and Micaiah's logs were intake temps at the MAF.
STOCK AIR BOX: While staging my car was seeing consistant intake temps of 55*. These dropped to mid 40s at the the end of the 1/4 mile.
OPEN FILTER UNDER HOOD: On Micaiah's car his intake temps were 93* at the tree and only dropped to 63* at the end of the 1/4 mile.
Also on average we both take .5 seconds per shift. I'm using NLTS and my very fastest shift is from 3-4. It was .45 seconds from IDC on/off/on. When I tried shifting into 5th gear at 7k it took .89 seconds and cost me 3 mph. YIKES!

Miciaha put his air filter back on. the reason for his high intake temps is because there is no air box or anything blocking the hot exhaust heat away from the intake.

Darth was definately faster than Darse. The EVO9 spools faster but my EVO8 had a hell of alot more top end. The nine is more fun to daily drive but the eight pulled and pulled forever where as the nine peters out up top.
After our dyno session I compared my EVO8 (mustang dyno) to EVO9 (middle of the road dyno). My EVO8 (Darth) made 376whp on a low reading dyno where Darse makes only 349whp on a higher reading dyno.
I'm sure I could add a LICP, O2 housing, boost controller @ 27psi, alcohol inj, and mivec cams to Darse and see as good if not better power.

Mitsu nailed down the parts they put into this car. Everything works very well together. The cams are perfectly mated to the turbo and the gearing is about as dialed in as you can get for stock performance. Even though its on the bleeding edge for my power level its still decent.
I think theres about 40whp left to squeeze out with bolt ons and tune. An O2 housing, LICP, MBC, and drag race flash would all provide additional returns.
I'll probably toss those on AFTER the gearing is adjusted.
