On the reverse side of the modding thread, what issues did you have with your ride(s) this season?
You may have to think back on this one.
1) my e-brake froze up(stuck) a couple times.
2) Oil filter came loose at WIR.
3) Broke an exhaust hanger.
4) coil pack got a little corroded leading to a misfire.
5) Turbo oil return line leaking (still need to fix).
Thats about all I can think of now.

I drove Darth (my 2003 EVO8) into a curb at 50mph. This damaged a BBS rim, advan tire, lower control arm, coil over, lower front lip, and even wrinkled the roof panel a little.
I only had liability on the car so I fixed it at my own expense. It actually sounds worse than it was. I was saving about $1000 per year by keeping liability only on that car. So, that mishap actually balanced out as I didn't have to pay for full coverage, a deductable, or increased rates due to a claim. At least the police weren't notified. I hate tickets more than I hate fixing shit.
That offroad rally inspired my purchase of Darse (my 2006 EVO9 SE) which is much nicer than Darth. Very happy with the upgrade.
I have since added 100whp and sticky tires to Darse. At the GSS lapping day the stock clutch flipped me off when I attempted to stutterbox launch with the R-compounds. If I want to add any more power or grip I will need to upgrade the clutch.
Other than that my fleet has been solid.

the price of gas. turbo 4 cylinders don't consider that as much of a problem
But still a problem non the less.

The only problem I had was a freak tank of gas where I got 34 MPG... Normally I'm at least 38, 41ish if I only drive highway all week. Oh yeah, I have a rattling window too. Driving a car for months and months without a single problem is foreign to me, but I like it. This whole Honda thing is starting to grow on me.

believe it or not, i actually get 40mpg in my TT.
I have had no problems with my car except a shattered front bumber when i hit a racoon 6 hours after i bought the car, its a $1,000 for a un-painted factory replacement front bumber, and each lower grill inserts are $50 each (3), and $300 for the bigger grill insert with the 4 ring Audi symbol on it. Oh and again when i ran over 8 cones and the lasers at the finish line on my last run at the marshfield autocross. And also my turn signals dont work, and i had my driverside front brake lock up when i was trying to avoid a deer at a 100mph when racing on MM in wautoma with Jarred(350z). I had to push the piston back into the caliper.

1.Oil filter backed off
2.Alternator took a crap
3.Coil pack resistor went out leading to no tach
4.Leaking headgasket
5.Leaking oil drain
Thats all I can think of, but as far as parts I swapped out the list is quite large. This is the taaly for this year:
4 turbos
3 O2 housings
2 intercoolers
2 BOV
3 exhaust manifolds
2 intake manifolds
3 sets of cams
2 cylinder heads
There is probably more but its not like I really keep track of all of it. All in all I think I spent as much time working on the car as I did driving it. Which is very good considering my "race car" had been on jackstands for the previous two years.

Dang where to begin . . .
Let's see here, how about with the fact that my car wouldn't move from the garage. Oh and then my car wouldn't move from the garage and let's see . . yup car still wouldn't move from the garage.
On a more serious note:
Lots of knock
Car decided it would be fun to not run on all of its cylinders
Rust in gas tank
Injectors became junk
Car was leaking oil like nobody's business
I'm sure there were boost leaks in there, although I think that started in the beginning of the season.
Ggggrrrrr!

I feared for my life once in that car on Tommy's Turnpike.
Well I've had two times when someone decided to mess around with my car at work. First someone decided to do a hit n run and not tell me about it. Next I leave from work, get the bank I do the whole car payment thing and when I get out to my car I notice that I have a flat tire. So I go put air in tire and I hear a loud hissing noise coming from the inside of the tire. Turns out there is a slice approx an inch long on the inside of sidewall. But the tire shop was able to patch it. But other than that I really haven't had that many problems with the GTI. I'll have to wait and see what kind of problems I run into when I attend more than two events.

Lets see.... I finally got the DSM running and after getting screwed by D&D and for some reason paying $6,500 for the motor it blew up again. and Dave from D&D will not warrenty the motor like he said he would. I bring it to him he said it was covered then 6 months later he says he isn't going warrenty it. This is after I go to his new shop in front of a bunch of people and yell at him because he left my car unlocked and my 7'' DVD flip-out, gauges, and cds got stolen. So now my car is still sitting there for I think the ninth month. I think it just spun a bearing. He said that he could fix it but it would cost $1,500. Yep i'm getting raped without any lube. So because of his lack there of fixing my car like he said he would i had to buy a new car. So now i'm driving my 04 Tuscani.

err, i mean me too.
i mentioned this about 3months ago though. not sure why you're still complaining about it. don't get me wrong, i'm on your side... but if youre going to keep complaining about it and not doing anything about it... i'm not going to be all that nice about it. now get off your ass and file a lawsuit. hopefully you have a receipt saying there is a warranty

Quatro. As soon as he told you he wasn't going to warrenty it he should have been getting a call from your lawyer.
A clutch that was defective and covered under warranty.
Brake pads went out after 36k
I had to replace a wheel bearing but I think that was my own fault.
