View Full Version : Studder box users, question for you
I was just wondering what kind of a rpm window do most other studder box devices hold. As in plus/minus how many rpm from the set rpm. I think mine is +/ 50 RPM. Also what method does your set up use to control the launch rpm window. Ignition cut, fuel cut, etc.

My stutterbox is set to 5750rpms, and cuts out for about 200-300 rpms. I beleave DSM-link cuts both fuel and spark. My stutterbox is based off the speed sesor, and mine is set to anything under 7mph.
Ah so it does cut fuel also.. that would be why mine bucks and backfires a lot and your studder box sounds so much different. I think the EMS, and Emanage both use ignition only, just as my NDE system. I wish I had the abilty to cut both.
What about you guys with the evos?

JJM reprogrammed my stutter box to 5,800 rpm up from the factory 4,800 rpm.
It works fine with the snow tires on or on a cold day with the Victoracers, but on a warm day when the tires are sticky I'd like a higher rpm setting.
How does your's actually work, does it cut fuel and ignition?

I don't know. I floor it and it stutters. Dump the clutch and it goes.

exactly, a x-case for a DSM can be found for a few hundred for a rebuilt one and takes 15 minutes to replace.
An evo, more like $2500 for one and a few hours to replace.
I have mine set at 6K and it drops only like 100 rpm. Ignition cut only.
