black spray paint is $1 a can... i hear that it takes 18 cans to properly paint a car with spray cans

anyways, i saw this shitty commercial on TV this morning. something about being able to paint your car, in your garage, with spray paint. at least that's what the commercial would have you believe. kid pulls in the garage with a silverish honda, you see him spraying... then he opens the garage door with a red honda!!! wow. so all you need is $20 for paint, and this website. have at it.

Ever seen the roll-on paint jobs? They use a bath tub enamel sort of deal and then sand... a lot. It usually looks decent and is dirt cheap too.

yeah but if you spray paint a car it usually ends up looking shitty when it rains or something... you would have to take it to a garage or somebody who has a grinder... grind the old paint off, put a base coat down and then paint it with paint... or at least that's what i have heard... i actually found a car dunno if it's decent for the money he's asking for it but if you guys wanna look at it and tell me what you think that would be appreciated!!!!!!!!

i would say NO to both of them actually. and here is why.... if you look in the titles for each, they say the F word. yep, they are both FORD's. you may want to look elsewhere and avoid that particular F work, mkay?

probably a dodge omni, but i don't need a twin. so maybe a honda civic would be a great idea. good gas mileage for all those trips between pointski and amherst. another fun car could be an older used miata. fun for autocross, convertible for summer. keep your corsica for winter.

otherwise, jeeps are fun!

okay... just to explain to you guys what i want my car to look like...

the paint has to be all black, it has to be a manual transmission and it has to be a 6 cylinder.

the reason why i want it all black is because i want to put hot pink neons on it... any other color car with hot pink neons would look gross....

i also want to have a custom exhaust put on it... unless it comes with one.

and i was also leaning towards the idea of modifying the engine a bit, but dizmm and tomkat kinda steered me away from the idea of that.

i just want my car to look pretty and go fast for our little springtime/summertime get togethers out at Prairie and i want it to be my autocross car too... :D

That doesn't exactly meet any of your above listed requirements...... as much as i would have loved to take your side on this one... once i looked at the car... i realized it does suite her needs.

Pros: (on her list)
1. it IS black (so the hot pink neons will be hott!!!)
2. is IS a manual trans (big smokey burnouts are a must i guess)
3. it appears to already have some form of fart cannon out the back. (aka "custom exhaust)
4. small, simple modifications to honda engines don't reduce reliability. (intake, header, etc) as i'm sure that was the concern of TK and Dizmm
5. has a HUGE tach, so she'll know what RPM it's at before letting go of the clutch and creating a rather large smoke show. (contradictory to #2 though)
7. it has purrtaaay white guages inside the car, to make it "racer-like"

Cons: (NOT on her list)
1. it's not a 6cyl, (but it's probably faster than a 6cyl moostang)

trust me, when i read your post about it not meeting req's, i actually laughed out luod and was expecting to see a red, automatic 4cyl of some sort... meeting NONE of the req's. maybe a red automatic shadow of death perhaps?? :lol: but it's pretty close to what she was looking for actually. however, it's double the price of the first two moostangs she listed on the previous page. must have gone to co-vantage credit union and stepped into some cash!
