Just wondering where you guys go to have your tires changed and balanced? I've seen some HUGE price gaps from place to place. As much as $100 to have 4 tires mounted and balanced, and as low as $20.

my dad has a shop in Shawano....so nothing for me. He usually only charges $6 a piece though when you buy new tires from him! but he also doesn't do much lowprofile stuff. Im usually the only one doing those 8)

The more expensive places are probably using a road force balancer. I don't pay anything either, I get full access to a shop. Its good not to burn bridges with previous employers. :D

Rapids area is terrible for pricing. The absolute cheapest place I could find was $40 and the guy destroyed the paint on my 18" Konig rims last fall. The next cheapest was $75! and several days waiting time.

A drive to Marshfield would work just fine, does your friend want any more business Dizmm?

well, the way i usually do it is I drop off my rims and tires and he gets to it whenever (usually only a day or two). If they are off your car you can just give them to me in point. I drive to marshfield every day. Otherwise I am sure if you setup a time with him you could just meet him at his shop or something.

I get mine done for free at work. Other things I get free are alignments and also got nice tire mounter and dismounter. But our balencer can only can go as big as a 17" which sucks but are mounter can do a 24" rim

Yes I screwd up there.. I didn't take action. One of my rims ha some scuffs from curb rash, and I just took it as a lesson learned, to never go back there. Which is why I'm also asking where everyone takes their stuff.

Those road force balancers are awesome, but the machine is only as good as the person operating it. Unfortunately most wrenches are paid flat rate and there is not way in hell a tech would take the time to road force balance a tire.

We had a road force balancer at Mark Motors, it is an awesome mahcine but your right, no one took the time to use all of its features. Except for our own cars. :D
