I need a cd drive for the kids puter to play games.

And I was thinking, I need a new mother board for my gamer puter, what do you have? Something good, I have a P4 1.4 or something like that now.

I can get you a good used CD-Rom drive no problem for free.

as for a motherboard, that usual means upgrading other things like the cpu, ram, sometimes the powersupply, new motherboard are setup to use SATA hard drive's, plus video cards are PCI-express now so if you want something high-end you will have to buy a new video card. may as well buy a new computer instead.

The new ram is sd ram right? I think I have the old stuff yet but those are cheap. I have a redeon 9000 or 9700 vid card I don't remember which one. Will my SATA paint gun work for a hard drive? lol

We should talk someday about some stuff. I'll take the cd drive and I still owe you from the hard drive before i think.

your gonna need a whole new system. New ram is DDR2. your old SD-Ram will not work. If you give me your SATA paint gun I could give you a SATA 160gb hard drive.

Not sure, whatever it had plus a 512? stick. The vid card is sposed to have an additional 96 or 128? but I don't know how that works if it is just for the vid card or if the computer uses that as well.

a new HDD should work in there. You may have to set the jumper on it so it limits the volume of the HDD to 32GB as some of those old PC's can't see anything more than that.

32GB was all my gateway intel pentium 247 or whatever they had back in the day would see with my dell hard drive.
