I've replaced and fixed windows and window regulators before, but this whole crank window thing has got me beat. When the window is at half-way, I can grab it and it's got about an inch of play, so naturally when I crank it up, it doesn't seal right and I have really annoying wind noise on the highway unless I force it up more manually than it already is. I took the door skin off and couldn't find what might be causing it... The pivoting X that moves the window up and down seems to be the problem, but I can only see the far corner of it... Any ideas?

needs new bushings throughout. i've had the same problem before. take it apart, order new $10 nylon bushings, and replace.
edit: well, the more that i think about it... your car SHOULD be similar to that. but i'm not 100% sure. but i'd assume most crank windows are close to the same design. check that out. bushings should be cheap.
Yes they are the same design as the 88-91's. However most windows just need adjustment. There are 7 adjustments for the window so it sits strait in the tracks and goes up and down good.

I don't suppose that CRX you're parting out has a good driver's side cranking mechanism?
