Event #4 of the CWSCC 2012 Ice-Rally Series (http://www.cwscc.com/icerallyseries.php).

Schedule:
Registration - 9am - 10am
Practice - 9am - 10:30am
Drivers meeting - 10:45am
First car out - 11:00am

Where:
Lake DuBay. Boat landing at the corner of County Road DB and County Road C in Knowlton, WI.

Trophies awarded at the end of each event.

Cost:
$20 for CWSCC Members / $30 for Non-Members
($20 to become a 2012 CWSCC Member)

That was fun tonight. GMC 3/4 ton truck took the rough sections like a chompion.

Dizmm found a hole we drilled 2 weeks ago to check the ice thickness. Got a wet foot in the process. 12"+ of ice.

Good event, too bad the track was kindof sketchy. But it can't always be perfect. Tow duty was pretty fun, but got less exciting after 1 or 2 haha

Great event- rough course and very challenging. Shane REALLY gave me a hard fight! Cant wait to see the results- I think we were within .04, or .004 of each other in the first heat!

brett came up with a plan to "redo" the track...he has a gas ice auger,i have a gas water pump....lets fix the track so we can keep running there? im not the only one who wont be able to drive another hour+ to go race

^ sounds like a good idea. However i dont know if its going to get cold enough to re-freeze the water you pump on the track. I say lets plow a course around the ruts.

They tried That last year at. FVSCC and it just ruined the track. If u can do it And keep people off it and it gets cold you could get away with it

Thanks guys, you always get great pictures too Hubert. Photography is a fun hobby that can be incorporated into just about every outdoor hobby we do.

I do plan on making some of the asphault events this year, yes. Im more of a bike guy, I have 3 of them so Im generally riding on the weekends and doing track days with those. At $180-$200 for a track day entrance fee, 2 or 3 sets of tires a season on my 2 sport bikes and the required maintenance doesnt leave me with a ton of cash for a really fun track car too.

Since I picked up that Accord last fall even though It's nothing fast or tracktastic, with some stiffer springs and some decent tires it will still be fun just to take to some events and pound the hell out of and I will always have my camera with too.

I think that was Megan driving Andy, she just dropped down the hill on the start line and the rally bar hit the ice on the bottom and kicked up a cloud of spray over the car. The timing of the photo is her coming through it, I thought it was kind of neat too. Thank you.

You could try, but I doubt this week it will get cold enough to refreeze this week. Then you got to keep people from driving on it until it freezes solid.

yeah, it was 45 when I LEFT my house this morning. I really really hope we get a super-bitter-cold snap after this, then the smooth glass of the melted water will be awesome when it freezes.

However I think DuBay is going to be a problem, since the feeder for the lake freezes, the water drains, then the ice drops, what happens when it gets warm? feeder unfreezes, and floods the lake with water, three to four feet isn't going to re-freeze, and if it doesn't flood, then there'll just be mud.
