In years past, 8-10, when the water was up on McDill Pond there was a oval plowed out in the winter. Over the summer they drained it from the cracks in the dam. It became muck. Now that its frozen why couldn't we hold a rally out there? Whats the difference from when it was a frozen pond? I know there is small stumps out there but we could use them to mark corners?

There is something about it being in town.

I'm sure we'd get kicked out right away.

Did we ever get kicked out back in the day? Whats the difference then say the purposed local in Wausau if its where I think it is in their town?

Yes we did get kicked out one day by the po-po.

If you want to go out there and try it out I'm game.

If lake Wausau ends up not working out I would think we would just go back to lake dubay.

We're talking about a dirt rallycross on this thread not an ice racing location.

We're good on ice rally locations.

Not sure exactly where she lives on Mc Dill, but the Mayor's mom lives on there somewhere, I think the rally would get squashed pretty quick. There is also a Mc Dill lake owners association......

Yeah, I treat alot of the lawns along Mcdill at work and most of them are self righteous pricks.

Decent tires won't do you much good if u sink on to the pumpkin and b
ury it. Just air down what you got and have at it

Ok fine....better tires, locking diff's, and a bigger motor haha And burying it to the axle is the least of my worries, it's burying it to the skid plate that gets you REALLY stuck.

I checked out the landing at the end of Heffron St. last night.

To get onto what used to be a McDill Pond you'd have to move a road closed sign and some traffic barrels. I think that's a pretty clear sign that they don't want you out there. Moving a road closed sign and driving past it is a huge fine.

If you guys really want, I have a friend with some land up in Gleason that said we could use his field. He also has acess to the lake on his property. I didnt really figure anyone would ever want to drive that far...if you guys are interested though, I can talk to him about it again...

We have a rallycross location north of Marshfield.

McDill Pond had the virtue of being right in town. Car guys really like to piss and moan about doing a little driving.

I gotta drive anywhere you guys have events anyways lol. The way I look at it is if I want to race, I dont have a damn bit of a choice, so it doesnt bother me.

Along with the rallyX spot in Gleason, I guess there are some secluded gravel roads we could "tsd" too.

Gleason isn't that far away.

May have to take you up on that if the ice season isn't much this year.

I'll talk to Dalton this week I would imagine. Just let me know. I am sure we can get something figured out. I hope ice season works out this year, but looking at the forecast for even next week, I am not getting my hopes up. Its supposed to be 40 tomorrow here.

On a side note, James(the guy with the camera at the rallyX) was supposed to get with you about emailing pics, has he done that yet?

Haven't seen any e-mail about pictures.

Ugh, ok. I'll take care of it. He dropped off a thumbdrive of pics of my car, but he said he would message you on FB or something about sending you the pics of other peoples cars.

Gleason... awesome

when my dad was in college at UWSP, a friend that lived there threw a "small party" for some friends one weekend... called it "Flee To Gleason". Turned into half of the campus that showed up and pretty much shut down the town for the weekend for a party! became a yearly thing for a few years after the kid graduated even i guess. My dad would bring up the story every so often as we drove through Gleason to get to my grandpas cottage in the Lincoln Hills not far past Gleason. so yea, that's my story on Gleason.

Illegal, trespassing. People own the ground on the bottom of McDill, when the water is down it is their land just the same as their lawns.

Interesting. How far out does their land go then? All the way to the stream?

Come to think of it this is true. I forgot down in NC and SC people buy property only a few feet in from the shoreline of the ocean or inland water ways. They are banking the water will recede from depositing of silt or the main channel will move slightly. This will then make their land a full lot and so they can sell it to make a profit.

As far as their lot goes. All the lots of McDill should bump up to each other just like any other lot anywhere. Yes lots of times the center of a stream will be the lot line but not always.

Same thing goes for any lake, stream, river. People just can't own water, thats why its legal to go anywhere so long as your feet are wet (standing in water) the actual law states navigable waters. Snow doesn't count. lol
