Wondering if any of you guys want to go to Great Lakes this coming week or next week? I'm planning on making the 30 minute trip over there to do some runs some night.

I dont give land, I dont take land. My car isnt fast enough to be giving anything.

I dont even know if I'll be there for sure, I have a charging issue I need to fix.

I finally did it tonight! For the record, GLD is a fucking amazing track, the pits, the water box, the track, the stands, everything is unbelieveable compared to WIR. I payed 30 bucks(yes a little more), and ended up making 14 runs(Don'tstopme, i found a couple more timeslips). Yes, 14 runs, and got faster and faster every time. My 14th run, i finally launched the car...
60' - 1.9
1/4 ET - 12.96
1/4 mph - 109.2
Thats alot of MPH, i need a clutch, i was launching it at 6000, and slipping it as little as i possibly could.

Yup, GLD is an awesome facility. And if you like GLD, try Route 66 out. Talk about incredible facilities.

Thanks BaddAss and TK. My MPH impresses me alot, i didn't know the car had that much top end. I was next to a c6 vette(non-z06), and he wasn't pulling on me like a corvette would.
VPT: I know my 60's should be that low, but to be honest, that was the best launch i could do tonight, there wasn't anything left. I tryed twice slipping it quicker or dropping it, and both times my clutch slipped the whole way down the strip. For the last run, i was on my 3rd run of hot lapping, but it held up fine.

My adrenaline has worn off, and now i'm very very disappointed. I should be alot quicker(et), than what i am at. Looking at what other people are doing, i should be in the 12.4 territory with that MPH. I just need a clutch that clutch i got and i believe i can pull it off. The car also has more power in it, with only a 5-knob tuning it, i know i am very far from close with the tuning. With that said, i'll make my new goal right now, for next season(since i am done for the year), Sub 12.3's is my new goal, with a big clutch and alot better tuning(possibly cams too, but no NOS).

^^ All you need is a wideband, clutch, and race gas. With that combination you should be in the 11s.

race gas = more boost = more hp = more MPH. good clutch = better launch and 60' is very important. I'm not saying these will put him in 11's probably just consistent high 12's IMO.

Pointdsm

After reading the Link forums, high 11's is actually very very possible. People are doing it right now with cams. I just am going to get a low 12 and then work from there. I can pull consistant high 12's, i was consistant 13.0xx for about 4 runs before my 12.0 run. I've never met a goal i haven't set for myself, this year it was to race my car more than ever, and run a 12 sec. run. I did both! Next year, sub 12.3 run, and beat TK's vette!

you mean 12.9....big difference. i don't know about very very possible. I'd say 12.5 at best only adding a clutch, and race gas. maybe 12.3 with studderbox and link tunning. but prove me wrong my friend, prove me wrong.

I would buy the 1k in parts before tires too. The parts will (should) last the life of the car and can be pulled off and sold if need be. Tires are good for what half a season? May as well spend the 1k on a vacation to some useless place and claim its for memories.

those $1000 in parts will most likely brake sometime, and for one that is into road-racing so much, tires should be put first. And if one does not want to put tires 1st, then stop complaining because others are beating you on the track!!!

Tires would be last for me when I don't have anything left on the car to spend money on. Otherwise you spend your money on tires that will for sure be shot in one year and still have a slow ass car that needs parts and no money.

i'd have to say VPT maybe talking about more straightline power those parts will add.. we are talking about GLD here in this thread. i see TK has tried to convert it to a twisties thread... but the title is GLD, meaning straightline.

i have to say, good tires will help in the Qtr mile yes, but power adders will do more for you in a straight line than tires will. especially on a AWD car.

The money i spent, was on a CF hood, and DSMlink, and a clutch. I don't see any huge power gains in any of those things, but things just to make my car use all of its power. Those 3 three parts will help me alot in the twisties as well, not as much as tires will, but they were needed parts.

Well one thing can be said for sure. Batteries are fragile. Be careful handling them and make sure to have them secured when you install them into a vehicle.
