Yes I do appreaciate those.....

Hopefully you can appreciate this info:
The lower number is top speed in gear. The higher number is rpm that the car will enter the next gear.
My rev limiter is set higher than stock so I hit 159mph when I ran out of gear. The speedo was showing nearly 170mph.

Looking at those gear charts it seems like the MR is the one to have.

Looking at those charts with the mods most people do to their EVO's the 8's gearing has a definite advantage. Hmmmmmmmmm.

^ H U G E .... this 9 gearing is crap for drag racing. Going into 5th gear takes forever and then puts it in a way too tall of a gear.

I agree on this 5th gear crap. It really sucks to have to put it in 5th gear. My 5th gear is grinding pretty bad. :x

^ Most people are having TRE put an EVO8 4th gear in and keep the EVO9 5th gear.

does that chart show top speed for the gears, or is it just a comparison with nearly equal rpm's. I sure hope its not top speed. Im pretty sure i can go faster then 113 in 4th. Im gonna go test it now.

TomKat

That chart is the top speed for the gears. :?

TomKat

Looking at the charts: at Road America a MR will have to shift into 6th gear at 3 points on the track. :?

Top speed with stock rev limiter. You have 200 rpm more in each gear now so you can eek out a little more but without cams it doesn't make much sense to do so.

I was shifting at 7,500 rpm during the standing mile. Do you think that hurt my speed?

TomKat
09-09-2007, 09:35 PM
Zoey's top speed in each gear:

1st 48mph
2nd 69mph
3rd 100mph
4th 143mph
5th 168mph
6th 155mph drag limited

An '01 Z06 does not have enough power to tach out the engine in 6th gear.

Short shifting in the standing mile normally provides more MPH.
