This should be a fricken joke for you to pump out and I bet a few of us would purchase them. I would buy two! Tire rack sells them for $129.

How about make them yourself with four 2x4's? That is what I did and I can hang on it myself with a set of tires already on it, will not corrode, and cost me nothing as I had them laying around.

I'd take a pic but I have it temporarily sitting on the ground as I'm cleaning the garage and rearranging.

Thats for hanging on the wall? If so that design is flawed, no strength in squares, triangles are much stronger. I could build a much better unit for you guy.

Funny this was posted I was thinking of doing this is one of my first projects. What thinkness square tube would you recommend?

Also is there anyplace to go buy scrap metal or where do you typically pick up your metal from?

My first project will be building a welding cart.

got an old bed frame? use that steel to make it. here's a couple examples:

but my favorite so far:

One of those from tire-rack might be ok, but they really only hold four tires, if they're skinny enough. if that's all you need to hold, perfect. But i've got r-comps, snowtires, rally tires, and motorcycle tires.

but yeah, an old bed-frame works great, although I would make them so the angles are pointed up like this : ^ ^ with the curve of the tire laying flat on the inside angles, to spread the pressure as much as possible and not make a small flat spot.

Well I also meant metal in general since I need metal for a welding cart and I'd like to build a welding table on casters.

The very first thing I ever did with my welder was to make a welding cart. Coincidentally, it happens to have been made with an old bed frame. lol!

my parents had a couple sitting around that weren't used anymore. Just happened to fit the bill, lots of people hav'em and don't know how to get rid of 'em.

Yea I plan on asking around. The project book I got also suggested using bed frames.

Can't we see what you want when you drop the jeep off? So we don't have to lift and drop it a few times. One of these weeks is deer hunting. Is that next week?
