I wanted to see if anyone had these tires before? Or if they want to make a suggestion for a good track tire for my A4? Any and all suggestions are appreciated/welcome.

I have Kumho XS on the BMW. I like them, but they wore out awful fast. Well I knew that was going to happen. They are supposed to be really bad in the wet, but I didn't have any wet issues. I bought them because they were cheap - they aren't the price leader anymore. For the money the Dunlop Star Spec or Hankook RS3 is better. IMO
What are you going to be doing with the car. Street driving? Lapping days? Autocross? All of the above or are you going to car shows every weekend?

All of the above minus the car shows. Cuz this is going to be a mutli duty car. I'm mainly excited as this is my first AWD car and I want a good tire that I can do lapping and autocross. Are they on your Beemer all the time or just for track days? Because I'm mainly looking at these just for track/autocross time.

They are on the BMW all the time. Didn't want to buy a second set of rims.
If you have a second set of rims and you don't mind changing them then get some r-compounds.
An exception would be if you wanted to run in SCCA street tire classes. Depends on how competitive you want to be.

Oh boy some competition.
Do you know what SCCA class your car is in?

I don't. I've mainly just been getting the car prepped for track time. I wanted to attend the Oct meeting but I had to work. This probably would've been something to discuss with you gents.

Well let's get the class figured out.
Year, make, model, and modifications.

1998 Audi A4 2.8 V6 5Speed. AWD no mods 'cept for awesome spray bombed factory wheels.(Which I didn't do) Stupid Cooper CS4 touring tires and no rear muffler. Well that could be considered a mod, but I didn't do it so...

GS is what SCCA classified your car for autocross.
Other cars is GS:
RSX Type S
Chevrolet Camaro V-6
Ford Mustang V-6 and 4cyl. turbo
Accord V-6
Mini Cooper S
DSM turbo FWD
Nissan 240SX
Chrysler Conquest turbo
Dodge Neon
Focus SVT
Subaru 2.5RS

Hmmm. I was thinking of the Kumho XSs for the 2.5RS, but I may just have to go with the Hankook RS3s. The Vette needs tires too, XSs or RS3s?
By the way CoBra, GS is a fun class. If there were more people in it, I would have probably stayed in the class for longer and held off on my mods (Which don't really help anyways.)
Edit: Just saw that tirerack doesn't have RS3s in 275 - 17s

Guess I'll have to run with the 240 crowd eh?

I'd get the Hankook RS3 over the XS.
