So the STi has these little black specs all over it. I'm guessing its brake dust. Elbow greese doesn't really take them off but my finger nail will. Is this something that a clay bar would be good at taking off?

Bring it over. I'll show you how to get rid of those nasty specs.

How about a clay bar "class". I need to clay bar my car too.

I love my Clay bar, the meguires compound seems very soft so I don't think you could damage much even if you tried. Keep the car lubed, rub in a X pattern until smooth. Keep folding clay. Wax afterwards otherwise the clay bar job is pointless.

If you drop your clay, throw it away.

TK.. want to buff one of my cars :) I find myself being WAY to picky and takes me forever and a day.. and a day and day to buff a full car. I'd be there for a week doing both of them.

I don't know where TK gets his stuff from but I get the blue clay from AutoMagic. Really good stuff. Much better than any I've bought off the shelf, and I've tried a lot of them.

Anytime around the Packer game on Sunday works for me or anytime after 4 on Monday. Want to get this crap off before its parked for the winter

Before doing anything, tear the clay in half, that way if you drop it, youll have another piece. Claybar is awesome, and really only the first step, and should be folloed with a good polish and then wax to seal.

also, the best clay lubricant is just water and a good car soap mixture. Also, make sure to wash the car before abd after.

I usually clay our cars once a year..I use adams products and their clay bar is amazing. The steps I use are

Power wash exterior
Wash with dawn
Dry
I use a detail spray for lubricate for the clay bar but you can use soapy water
Make sure you keep the surface wet never clay on a dry surface.
I only do a panal at a time.

For really great tips on clay bar use search ADAMS clay on youtube.
