I put together this event and would like your support in making this the biggest event in Marquette Engineering. Event is free I have directions if needed. This would make a perfect get away weekend.

There is an Auto-X at Miller park both Sat. Sept. 8th and 9th if anyone is interested.

I'll be in Milwaukee anyway, so I'll probably check it out. I live right down the road.

I'd offer to have people stay at my place but my apt is barely 600 sq ft.

Do you have more info on the autox?

Event was amazing. Had right around 30 or so cars. It ranged from 600hp+ 55 Chevy to 400hp MkIII Jetta to Bikes and even a red tractor. SAE also brought out all their fun toys including 2 baja cars and the F1 car. They also showed their stuff with the brand new gsxr motor for their car next year. Also big thanks to PTDSM for making the event. It was awesome you made it out. Thanks a ton buddy. Everyone elso missed out on free food and t-shirts

i had TONS of time on weekends when i was in school. but now that i own a house, have a child, run a business... time is of more importance to me now. sure i like going to these events still... but i don't always have time. i would have liked to have gone this weekend to MF, but i'll be in ATL. you can't fit everything in every weekend... i have other priorities these days. I've been racing TK for years. Considering he always runs R compounds and I run street tires I think I do quite well. Not sure where you are going with this. I recently called him out to a street tire vs street tire battle and he accepted. I would expect this to take place at Shawano or BHFs.

Hmmmm.... you don't want to call me out so you want me to run TK but you want me to run TK in Extreme's car at the Marshfield autox knowing that I don't like orange cone events. LOL.

i wish evil would race me. :(

I've also agreed to rematch you at BHF's but apparently that isn't good enough. Maybe we should battle at Shawano as well.

GRRRR, ok the last Shawano lapping day i originally did not plan on going until evil challenged me in a cat/mouse chase at Shawano, so a day prior to the event, i changed my mind to go. I prep my car, put new pads on, load it on the trailer and off I go early that morning. I get there, come to find out Evil is a NO SHOW!!!!

Your memory is about as reliable as a DSM..... At least you got a trailer for the dsm. Too bad you can't put a new head on your shoulders.

As far as I know I haven't been challenged at Shawano.

Dizmm and I have started and will finish our chase at BHFs.

Sounds more like I have been challenged by Tomkat not Dizmm.

Should have done that sooner. Car currently has no turbo in it. Sold the hotside yesterday.

You never called me out. Tomkat tried to get me to attend at the last minute but I had already made plans to be out on the water. Your race lineup was the EVO8.5 (TK) and EVO9 (MOSS) not me.

Evil did say he was going to attend that event, i remember it as well. I would love to challenge you next year Evil, but i want to see what direction my car goes over winter before i make that move. How i will race though, will either be on R-compounds, or shit all seasons. Why spend the money for decent track tires?

Speaking of, how much are those BIG propane heaters, for a garage? Does anybody have one i can borrow and just buy the propane? I want to actually work on the car this winter and not have to go in 15 minute stints like last winter.

i got a 75,000 btu propane heater. heats my insulated garage in about an hour.

devlish
09-10-2007, 01:43 PM
my guess is... anyone that has a propane heater has it for a reason... becuase they use it! Fleet Farm usually has a sale on them about this time actually... can get a decent one for under $100. not a bad investment if you're going to working in the garage on your car.

you can also get the bulb type that mounts on top of a small tank (gas grill tank) that emits no fumes. use the bigger propane torpedo heater to heat the garage, and the bulb style to keep it warm without killing your brain cells as much. i have one of the bulb style. works great for maintaining temps at close range.

biggest factor in all this is size of garage and insulation. i've seen people tarp off a smaller area to heat that only.

good luck. my cars will all be inside a 4,000 heated facility this winter. about 75 feet from where i'm sitting right now! i should have enough room to do any needed work!

Evil enjoys autoracing events but prefer's paintball over racing. If the race is on a Sunday odds are Evil will not be attending.

This is also true for events scheduled on the first holiday free full weekend of the month as Evil has reserves.

Evil would prefer to attend non-racing group activities but rarely hears about said events.

There is some guys on tuners that might be making tubular crossmembers and such, I am all over that if they actually do it. Also, i need to figure out my front camber issues and my rear toe issue(its frozen in place, so a adjustable bar might be in order.

devlish
09-11-2007, 12:22 PM
have VPT weld you up some crossmembers. probably cheaper, and he'll make sure they are more solid and fit your car wherever you'd like them.

i've thought of doing that myself for my GLH. but my first goal is to get the f*cker driveable for more than a month at a time. then i'll worry about VPT crossmembers.

for a daily driver, i think -2' is even more than neccessary. i have my omni at -1.25' becuase i don't want to kill my tires on the street so much. -2' is a pretty aggressive street setup in MY OPINION.

I want to grind the strut mount(lower), and slide the bolt.

You don't grind the knuckle you grind the strut. This works and some manufacturers recommend this techinque. I'd have to check if this is recdommended on a DSM. This won't allow a whole lot of adjustment though.

BUY camber plates. if they made them for 2g's I'd be all over them. I would love to be able to have adjustable camber that is easier than putting gas in your car.

Camber plates would be the best way to adjust it.
