last night as i'm sitting watching a movie late at night... i witnessed an EVO loose control and almost smoke a curb right in front of my house!!
I swear, those EVO's are jinxed.

It may seem that way but the truth is....... everyone elses junk is broken. EVOs are the only cars that are out getting pounded on day in and day out.
You dont see very many CRXs / GLHs hitting curbs because they are up on jackstands.

Can't say that for my EVO. It's been down more than it's been ready.
The Honda's are ready to go anytime.

R compound tires suck in the rain. I've never seen a car whip around that quick before. It was like I was driving on butter.

Yet another reason why I'm right about taking the EVO to the track instead of Poopie.

R compounds are awesome on wet pavement. You should really get some regular tires to see the difference.
Jetski is right. You shoud have been driving Poopie last night.

That was your own doing.
After taking advice from fellow EVO owners. I should have taken it to the dealer right away.

Easy solution, avoid the crappy ACD. Go with an 03-04 evo VIII

I am not a fan of ACD.
Yesterday put Darse through her paces and didn't like the feel of ACD at all. Maybe it makes you faster but its definately not as much fun as a true mechanical diff.

<------- does NOT desire an EVO.
sure, they're nice cars, and fun to drive.
the only reason I should really get one is so that I have an AWD, so I have all three drive-wheel setups.
I need to find a super-efficient cheap car that CANNOT be tweaked for better performance, just to keep me from spending all of my money....

2.5 RS, NON turbo, all wheel drive... then you'd have it all.
or an old AWD "Justy"

At least that red evo didnt break his headlight, I called mitsubishi and the want $1485 for 1 passenger headlight. Both of franks headlights on his EVO are worth more then poopy!!! I called MCDill up and they gave me 2 choices, a slightly used one for $1300 or one with a small crack for $600. Bring on the scotch tape!!!!

I agree, I have a project car and an integra for daily driving. Already looking at parts for the teg and I haven't even finished up on the project. Just gotta keep the debit card in the wallet and stop cruising honda-tech appearance/cosmetic and performace forums.
It's funny in a way, I like having a quiet/stock exhaust but I'm tempted to go a custom setup yet I know I'll be annoyed the minute I hit the hwy @ 3500+ constant rpms.

I put my turbo back exhaust on the car last night. In doing so I figure I picked up about 50hp. But you are right I hate the loud exhaust.
I'm thinking about running just a downpipe and testpipe while keeping the factory muffler. That should be more tolerable.

spend the $$ on an electronic cutout... then you can have the best of both worlds... stock & quiet when you want it, loud and fast and the flip of a switch.
kinda like nitrous i guess...

As soon as ECUFlash allows me to run multiple maps I will do something like that. In the mean time.... I wonder it the guy the just bought the silver EVO 9 needs an exhaust!

casey? or is there another one?? becuase i saw a silver 9 drive past Sign Pro the other day, and i figured they would have stopped in to say HI if they knew me. but i didn't see who was driving. didn't look like Tom's car or Jakes car... i noticed the little wind bump things on the back of the roof, so i assume it was a 9. right? but like i said, i'm sure Casey would have stopped to say HI

The spikes on the back are called a vortex generator. Casey has one of those on his 9. There is another sliver one in town now. The guy who owned the TT got one but I don't believe his has a VG.
I'm half temped to leave the car stock except for a testpipe and some additional boost.

I guess I never really noticed how much better the Evo 7 and 9 look.... I think it's that whole pig-snout looking front grille on the 8 I don't like.

You would like it if you wanted to install a bigger FMIC.
The nine is very limited in airflow to aftermarket units.
---------------
There really are too many EVOs in town. Anyone want to buy my new one? You'll have the only black one in town!
I still don't see a difference.
So when are these evos getting numbered so we know who is who?

You don't see the difference because you are always looking at the back instead of the front.

Never raced an evo yet, I tryed to get this one guy with a black evo to the track to race all the time but he never wants to go.

You have to be able to read them on a flyby so they have to be at least a foot tall.
