Wow, you guys really love those Evo's huh? How can you talk shit about a car that chews them up and spits them out like nothing? Its not like HE mentioned anything about being better than any other cars.

Uh. The Camaro was just toying with Mack Aye Ahhhhh and it was pretty obvious if you were there watching. No need to waste the gas on a blow out.

sorry a win is a win!,

my camaro is sold and im waitinig for my new camaro, spring of 09,

I would not be caught in one of these little 4 door toy cars"evo"

you guys watch Fast and the Furious too much, you all think you have 9-10 sec cars, well bring these EVO's to RSD Sept 7 and you have a lane with my beater s-10,, heck i beat your "quick EVO" 4 times on the street so this time you can come to the track

i really dont think any of you guys have the balls to show up, prove me wrong

TK is right, even with traction issues the camaro was still playing around, it wasn't that close.

This post was the most redneck thing you could have said. Go do some research on an EVO. Its not design'd to do the old fasion straight line race. Its made to go fast as fuck around turns, something that involves more skill.

yeah, i know I will probably hear a bunch of BS on this one but I dont care if someone does not agree with me, road-racing requires MORE skill than straight-line racing.

Only way to figure this out:
-2 people, one thats a road-racer and the other a straigh-line racer
-one car

Have them do a quarter mile race, compare times, then have them do a timed auto-x course are Marshfield, then compare times.

To many variables in that test, and with the drag racing test, we would need an 8-second car to really prove the point, not a 12 second car.

DiZZy is right, it takes no skill to drag race...IF you have an AWD that all you have to do is floor it and pop the clutch

I never said it take NO skill. But it does take skill to read my post i suppose and understand that I said road-racing takes MORE skill than straight-line which implies that there is some skill involved with drag style racing.

This is a great thread!!!

We should all go buy an automatic camero.... toss on a 200 shot of sauce and some slicks..... the we will have mad skills.

Mash the pedal and go-baby-go!

All forms of racing take skill. If someone prefers to drag race well that's just fine. If someone wants to drive road courses well that's fine too.

I'll do both. :D

You saying i'm spraying the wrong car? Maybe a 200 shot on my Camaro would bring it from the mid 12's the the low 11's:D Then i could talk more shit with my 10-14MPG car.

You guys are pretty funny. If drag racing is "2nd place" to road racing, thats ok. If I come down saturday night, I'm sure I'll find everyone driving around cones, not blasting down a marked off stretch in teh country for 1320 feet, right? If corner carving is so much better, why are you guys drag racing every saturday night?

Typical ricer response. I may not be fast, but I can out-corner you, yet you guys are the ones doing straight line racing each and every weekend. Most are just too chickenshit to come to the dragstrip where the fast cars are.

Here it comes, the "Let's race around cones" comments, in 3...2....1......

Drag racing on Saturday night is something to do. We really can't go setup cones in a parking lot and start racing any night of the week. Also street racing is free, you can get as many races as you want and we don't have to drive an hour to do it. Thats how I feel at least. You may be happy to hear that I am getting away from the 4 banger, turbo AWD. I will be going to a V8 rear wheel drive. Maybe I have seen the light? :D

Ive done the corner thing a few times last year and I have to say, it doesnt take that much skill, its how hard you want to push your machine.

You should not have to rely on anything else but your car to make you go fast!

I think this all started by the sale of the slushbox chevy.

I'm not sure why we are arguing about road racing and drag racing.

Jay beat Micaia and someone is apparently upset. I'm glad he finally showed up to run a few. I wish it would have been sooner.

Dizm where are you going to the strip? I would like to attend as well.

Like I said, thats where the slow guys go. Thats cool though, its all in fun. At least you can beat me driving around cones.

As for the arguing, I just thought it was funny reading the original posts of the guys that don't have fast cars talking shit about the guy selling one. Thats like getting beat up and bragging about how tough you are.

Like I said, its all good. Anyone who takes this stuff seriously should seek help.

Thats a HUGE disadvantage for you RWD guys. I prefer AWD and never have to worry about traction. 99% of my driving is on the street, and 99% of the time there is dust, dirt, rain, snow, or some other crap causing the traction to suck balls, but not for me!!!

It was a spur of the moment thing. I will be leaving tonight and be staying at a campground with family.

That would be awesome to see others come and either watch or run some. let me know if you decide to go!

When I raced him he had better exhaust and a few other things that would make quite a difference over a stock Evo, so I was told. I was also told he was only spraying 50, then someone else said 75, either way, he didnt want to race me when I asked him to take the bottle out. Anyway, it doesnt matter. I can accept the fact that it took AWD and 2 power adders to beat me. I'll be back down sometime, and I wont have a passenger when I race. That will make the difference right there.

Like I said, he was a cool shit. I really wish he would get online, I'd like to invite him to RSD on the 7th, it wouldnt cost him anything except gas. I'll get him in for free, and if I beat him, then he'd have to pay me back. He can spray as much as he wants, the only stipulation is we go heads-up.

GLD would work too if he didnt want to stoop down to my redneck standards.

too bad i didn't keep my 2jz that would handle 900+hp "stock" motor the only "american" car i've seen could do that was the GT40 that got the twin turbocharger on the stock bottom end. So ya i go over the 2jz anyday.

come on guys i have a rwd too just gotta set my launch control up im too lazy haha

spinning bad, lifting, then i sprayed just enough to catch up, he had me off the start by a few cars,(it takes a lot to play catch up and go past someone), i was then off the bottle in 3rd and just staying in front of him by a couple cars,

the sale of my car has been in the works for a few months, a guy has wanted it for a while but he didnt have all the cash together, i told him i would give it a try on e-bay and if it didnt meet my reserve he would be next in line and i would wait the 2 months for him to get the money. he agreed and he has come up to my reserve price and will be picking up the car next month and i will be waiting to order my new camaro

I got the cure for that spinning shit....

I went balls out against him, as much as the road would hold. Another 50 feet and I wouldve been past him, but nonetheless, he handed me my ass.

"Ask a ricer, any ricer. It doesnt matter if you lose by an inch or a mile losing's losing."
