Do the ladies want to have the bitch-cross in Marshfield (Sept. 16th) or Plover (Oct. 28th)? If it's in Marshfield then Brittany will have the home court advantage.

at USAIR

The autocross will be on the track. Cones will be set up on the track to make extra gates, most likely on the straighter portions, to slow the speed down a little.

Pointdsm

Slow the speed down? Its shawano..not blackhawk TC.

Let's shoot for the b.c. at Marshfield on Sept. 16th. If all the ladies can't make it then we'll do it on Oct. 28th and Golden Sands.

GLHottie might either be in Milw on the 16th, or picking me up from the airport. i'll check with her next time i call korea and get her thoughts on that weekend though.

I didn't say that it was too fast for me...the speed has to be under a certain MPH to be covered by the insurance as an autocross. That is why it needs to be slowed down.

Pointdsm
08-10-2007, 12:15 AM
I was thinking thats what you ment, but i thought it was under 80mph, and if your going 80 at shawano.... 8)

Sounds like someone thinks an insurance inspector might be spot checking.

TomKat
08-10-2007, 07:19 AM
At any event insurance rules must be followed. If something bad happens and you weren't following the rules.....Uh oh. :o

devlish
08-10-2007, 08:36 AM
better safe than sorry. it's not a one time deal either, i assume they'd drop you for the rest of the season as well... but i have no idea how hard it is to get insurance for an event like that. my guess is it's easier to stick with what you've got than to find a new Ins company.

and i'm pretty sure some cars do hit close to or over 80 on that back stretch at shawano. (or was it 60??)

EVILUTION
08-10-2007, 09:09 AM
Well autocrosses at Shawano are normally slower than lapping days.

Hopefully they don't disrupt the smooth flow of the lapping day layout. It's slow enough the way it is.

Simply tell the drivers at the drivers meeting to keep it under XXmph. That should cover it.

There has never been an autocross at Shawano. The one if Sept. will be a first.

On the radar gun Zoey hit 76mph on the back straight.

I remember taking the PGT to Shawano a couple times with timing gear. It was called an autocross at the time. Was able to catch air and hit my 8k rev limiter. PGT and Type R ran within .02 of one another.

I was there that day!!! And the Firehawk almost took out the timing lights when he went off track.

That wasn't an autocross. We just set up the timing gear and made runs like a lapping day. That was when the track first opened up and I believe that day they were working on the back section of the track making us use the just the front part of the track.

I wish these events were published somewhere.

I've been to BHFs a bunch of times and I never once get an email from any of those clubs advertising another event.

I'm thinking I may attend another one of Feff's events. I would like to run MAM sometime.

There's a lapping day at Grattan on October 12th, put on by the same guy as the one that TomKat, Evilution, and myself were at back in April... i believe $165 for the day.

Since I don't have a car in proper operationg condition for a day like that, I'm not planning on going. Unless I somehow get some time and a solid engine for the Toyota.....
