On Honda-Tech I just read through a thread of a Civette.... EK hatch with an LS1.... FULL conversion... Interior and all. Pretty fuckin impressive if you ask me. And the 2JZ S2K has gotta be one huge burnout machine, that'd be badass to see!

not sure if I would even call the 1st car a probe. its barely even a probe shell anymore.

both of them still have a full interior minus the back seats heh...
the guy with the 2nd gen wants his car with comfort and just like a daily driver..
the guy with the 1st gen wants the same...

These guys had a battle of the fastest probes.. fastest 1st gen in the states and fastest 2nd gen utilizing the original motors...
then the guy with the 1st gen went with the 2jz swap and soon followed the other one :)

that's where the BS starts... if it doesn't have a probe motor anymore, i say it's NOT a probe anymore. like those drag cars that use a saturn sc1 shell.... c'mon, not only does it not even look like a saturn, there is no way there is a saturn motor under hood (or hatch). it's a shame to say it's a 6 second saturn. what a joke.

Hmm..a daily driver car with that kinda of driveline..those tires..and a parachute. I daily drive mine, i went to oshkosh friday, then the cruise saturday, then around town today, i doubt he does that.

So is my arrow isn't a plymouth? Since it doesn't have the orignal 1.6 mits in it? So must be a dodge since, that where the motor came from?

So if he stuck a ford v8 in it then wouldn't be a probe?

Hell yes, I do like that. I have been heavily considering parting out the dsm and picking up an FD to put a ls1 or ls6 in. I need to look into insurance costs more, that will be the final deciding factor. I have heard they are considered "exotics" which ups the premium quite a bit. :? If I were to get rid of the dsm the only thing that would replace it is a FD or E36 M3.

If you think a 10 year old FD will be pricey....for a laugh check on EVO insurance.

I got online quotes for the FD, E36 and EVO. The EVO was the cheapest. FD was the most expensive. They were all fairly close in price however.

FDs are sexy cars but you can't drive them in the winter.

It would replace the dsm which doesn't get driven in winter or the rain for that matter. I am very close to posting the part out sale ad right now. It would be nice if I would be able to sell the entire car, but theres no way I'll get what I could parting it. Which sucks considering the time and attention to detail I have put into the car. I may part it out to stock and use it as a daily driver or just sell it or maybe keep it. :? I think I have the Evil syndrome.

Yeah you can. Put some snow grips on and I'd race one against an EVO.

If you decide to part it out stash, let me know. I MAY consider a few things. Also an FD sounds like an awesome idea and it would be something different. lots of work, but I am sure with some research and time you could do it. too many AWD 4-poppers around now days!!!

As for insurance, just get liability.

I may end up finacing a part of it so I will need full coverage for a little while at least. The quotes I got were really not bad, around 80 a month.

As far as the LS1 swap in a FD goes, I have been researching that for years. I would like to find one next spring, run the rotary for next year while accumulating the swap parts. Then do the swap over winter. Unless I find one already swapped within my price range.

Look on the the other forum, i need to make sure DSMLink will transfer correctly, but i would love to have both  .
I agree, it would be kick ass to have another rx7 around town. I loved it when bubba had his out, that thing looked damn good, and fucking flew(especially for a rotary).
