Actually, not at all. My first run I launched at 4500 and spunt through 1st and into 2nd, the 2nd run I launched off idle, spun a little in 1st until I hit 2nd, then it spun pretty bad again. It was still fun though.

Looked pretty damn good to me for being on the street. Most V8 cars that are built allways look like they are going to go in the tulips on the street.

Yeah, it was like that into 2nd. I think if I wouldve let off between gears and let the RPM drop it wouldnt bust loose so bad, but I keep my foot to the floor and shift just under 7000, its too much for the tires. I'll have my own VHT next time, just for me!!! lol

For comparison sake, on a prepped track, my best so far is 1.54 for a 60' time. Knowing how my car performs on the track, and knowing how bad it spun, last night's run was at best probably a 1.9x or 2.xx 60' time IF it wouldve been on a track. I know I ran no quicker than 12.0's last night if it were on a track, but thats the major difference between track and unprepped street. It's all part of the "Street" game, its alot easier to hook on a prepped track obviously.

No excuses, that EVO gets up and moves. I'll be down for a friendly rematch though, something tells me he's gonna want bigger than a 50 shot!

I think he's running 25 psi. A stock turbo can't hold any more than that.

Those EVO's get a lot out of 121 cubic inches. 8)

The car spikes to 25 then falls to 22. Thats about all the stock turbo and 9.8 hotside can muster without turning into a mini flame thrower.

But..... That guy has been hounding me about some of my go fast parts.....

With a $200 hotside upgrade or $500 EVO9 turbo upgrade it can spike to 28 then fall to 26 and not give up any streetability. That's a nice 30 whp jump. He is still on stock cams. Toss some 272 or 280s on there and he'll see another clean 30whp. Then there's the tune and the lack of a bottle heater.

For less than $1000 there's easily another 100whp in the car.

EVO9 DV - More boost holding ability
HKS 272 cams and cam gears - 30whp on my car more with juice.

This alone would put him DEEP into the 11s.

I know he will do it if you persuade him enough. He's been talking about getting cams for a long time. He really needs to get tires though, the Kumho's will be showing wires soon if not already!

BTW, badass88gt, your car is freaking sweet! I really liked that 6.0L S-10 as well. Fast V8's really make the night interesting!

On the street, doubtful. Lots and lots and lots of VHT. Ive seen vids of guys doing it, so I know its possible, not on the road we ran on though. Their roads were prepped the same as the track with the amount of rubber on them.

I was pissed, he had a bunch of shit done plus he was spraying, I messed up my launch. I ran him down but I ran out of track, another 50 feet and I passed him. His bottle was empty and wouldn't race me again after that. I was accused of spraying but I didn't even have the bottle in the car. Pissed me off, lol. (him)

This was years ago, I forget his name. He said he had a larger turbo, all the supporting mods and it was said to be a 75 shot. I even offered all those guys to come to the track (where I can get traction too) and nobody would show. My street racing days are behind me, at 38 with a wife, kids and house it's just not worth the "glory" anymore VS. the risk. (him)

Yeah, that was him. He had a loudmouth buddy with him but I remember he was a nice guy. I will be at the dragstrip next summer looking for my 9 second timeslip, maybe some new guys will come down for some friendly fun. (him as well)
