The feed tube for my sub pump has a continuous stream of water running out of it. I'd say a rate of 5 gallons per minute.

this is on the rapids side, that stone wall is usually over 10 feet above the water.

If you guys know where the round-about is in rapids, water is all the way up to the gas station.

on a normal day if you have ever had a red light going into nekoosa and sat on the bridge...it moves!! Wouldnt want to be on it tonight.

VPT, how did you get to the spill way. All the roads are blocked off now and are flooded. I also went and checked out the dam today, and they actually had all the gates open when I went. This is only the second time in my life that I can remember that happening.

Pretty much the whole west side of Stevens Point is shut down at the moment. I had a tricky time getting to my parents house (they live on the west side). Luckily their house is dry at the moment, but some of their neighbors have water getting ridiculously close to their front door, and there is water literally flowing across the roads like rivers. All the swampy areas are now basically lakes. It's a mess.

I guess the Wisconsin river normally this time of year has a flow of about 2000 cfm in this area. Tonight it's projected to crest at 76000 cfm.

As for Marshfield, I think they got spared the brunt of it.

I don't think you can get there now. I guess the water is even higher. Just got off the phone with my parents and the city is sandbagging some of the neighbors homes. I'm gonna go over and see if I can help right now if I can even get there.

The LPR floods almost yearly at my parents house. (well dads house) but a few years back then opened to many gates and flooded our enclosed deck and basement and we were JUST at the require distence from the creek and up hill. Our trampoline was complete under water that year.

Point being I'm glad it didn't effect us this time. But it has effected friends this time which still sucks.

yes this is 2nd ave. / hwy 54/73 on rapids west side

just heard a rumor from a rapids city employee that there is a crack in the point dam and if it lets go rapids west side will really be under water. dont know if there is any truth to this or not.

jackson st bridge is closed.(fact)

police are all over rapids keeping people away now from the flood areas and all the special responce vehicles/ boats are ready in different areas(heard from reliable source)

also heard they are closing all the bars downtown by the bridges(rumor)

This spot right now is WAY worse, the water is rushing over that wall by a foot or more above it.

Get pictures people! This is a rare event. I went out today and got more pictures of the even higher water. Today threw tomorrow should be the peak of the water.

So many roads closed its like a maze, I'd drive south and try and get around it all. http://www.co.wood.wi.us/Departments/EM/

True story about the special response teams I drove past them when i went downtown rapids to check out the water. They were all parked in a col du sac near the bridge that is down to one lane on each side because of the work (i have no clue what the roads are) before you get to the old downtown mall.

When i lived in Washington, this flooding shit happened almost yearly. Spring snow melt sucks. Very big fluctuations in river water level realting to seasons there.
