Hello, My name is Rich. I own and operate a small custom powder coating company in central WI. Trapp River Powder Coating. I cater to car, motorcycle, snowmobile, and ATV enthusiasts. I offer over 350 colors including high gloss (super wet), flats, metallics, candy's, translucent, Harley Davidson, industrial, R.A.L., special effects, optical illusion, and glow in the dark. Powder coating is another form of painting. It is much stronger than paint, endures high temps, and lasts longer. In most cases it's also cheaper. It is applied as a powder and than bakes to finish. When it's done it has a show quality finish. And again, its comes in any color you can imagine. almost any substrate can be coated including metals, chrome, woods, and plastics. I also offer Ceramic coating for exhaust systems. It keeps under hood temps down, it protects from rust, looks good and comes in different colors. It can withstand continuous temps of 2000 degrees. If you have any questions or want a free price quote please call or email me.
Thanks,
Rich

Actually im located off of HWY W and shady lane rd. close to trapp river golf course. I'm not in an industrial area. Im based out of my private shop. Its nothing fancy or big, (yet) I do all my own sand blasting powder and ceramic coatings. Everything is in house. I just moved here from Denver so Im a new biz in town. My prices are hard to beat. Soon I will have my web site up.

As far as offering jet-hot, no as of now. I have been looking into their product. It is the same thing as ceramic just different name. So yes I do offer the coating just not their name brand.

Sorry I posted too quick about jet hot. The standard colors they offer only withstand temps of 1300 degrees. Their specialty jet hot coat goes to 1700 and 1 other goes around 2400 degrees. All My colors can withstand continuous temps of 2000 degrees and my coating are cheaper. I offer them in polished aluminum, orange, aluminum, satin blue, titanium, cast iron, chrome, white, clear, and matte black. You can call me on a quote if you would like. Thanks Posihead

How will the exhaust coating hold up on a turbo hotside piping? Headers?

The ceramic will hold up to the hotside turbo no problem. Now I'm talking exterior, I no longer do inside pipes or inside ports. You are looking at 1600 deg operating temps on the hotside turbo. The hottest they have gotten to my knowledge (correct me if im wrong) is 1800 deg. and thats racing applications. My ceramics will withstand 2000 deg continuous. The first use of ceramics was on aviation exhaust headers and pipes due to its protection against corrosion. It was the only material that didn't add any weight and could handle the temps of an aviation engine which run at full RPM in flight. When I was an aircraft mechanic the inspection of the ceramic coating on the exhaust was very meticulous, I never noticed any issues with heat being a problem, and they run much hotter than car exhaust. And most aircraft are turbo and super-turbo charged, with ceramic applications.

Forgive me I shouldn't say all colors withstand 2000 DEG. Here is the actual temps.
Chrome: 1300 DEG
Clear: 1000 DEG
2000 DEG:
Orange:
Polished Aluminum
Titanium
Aluminum
Cast Iron
Matt Black
Satin Blue

I would recommend all colors for headers but for the hotside turbo I would only recommend the colors that handle 2000 deg. Headers operate between 300-800 degrees, unless your setup for drags or very high performance.

can you do an exhaust manifold this weekend? and do you do pickup/delivery in the St Pt area?

Sorry Devlish, since it's friday I wouldn't be able to get it done this weekend. I don't keep ceramic in stock due to it's short shelf life. I could have it done by next weekend. It takes me 3 days for delivery after I order. My ceramics come out of tennessee. What size is the header, straight 6, v8, 4 cylinder, and what color do you want it? How old is it, is there a lot of rust?

Sorry devlish, I have 2 phones 4 websites and keeping an oven going at the same time, my brain is a bit scattered. I don't deliver or pickup in the point area, only wausau and merrill.

Can you PM me a price on how much it would cost to sand blast 18" rims then powdercoat them a metallic graphite color?

I live in Wausau on the north side by Fleet Farm so I am close.

Thanks

just needs a quick sandblasting, i blasted it real good few years ago and sprayed with high-temp paint. it's still in good shape, as it's only seen a few hundred miles since. just a quick blast to get rid of whats left of the paint, and it'd be ready to coat.

I'll keep you posted for monday then, will check over the weekend on the install schedule of the engine. PM me your number please, and if i need to, i'll call you monday. I'm up in mosinee every few days, so i could meet you in wausau or something when i'm up that way already. thanks

grocerygetter, i'll be looking forward to hearing from you. In the great white north, I get most of my business when the toys are put away for the winter.
Take care,
