View Full Version : Spectator Racing Alignment

Listening to PDSM talk about the undefeated Camero really makes me want to take Darth to a spectator race and put the smack down.

I'd need a clutch and some R-compounds but I would hope someone would loan me their sticky tires for a few laps. Jeff Jeske Motorsports would insure them against damage from strategically placed curbs and walls.

Now for the tech question.... Do think one should set up his alignment for left hand turns? With my AFTERMARKET adjustable camber plates I think I could help the car stick better on the banked oval. Any stock car guys in here?

It would be sweet to watch .

Well I'll be doing a clutch soon enough.

Maybe TK will borrow me his R compounds.

Last time the car got a little sideways and went into tripod mode..... but it was wet....

I wish I could get on the track to see how fast I can take those banks before the car starts to slide.

REALLY fast. The G-Forces are crazy on that turn. Too bad you missed last years GS event when it was dry.

To bad it seems last weeks event was the last of the year...

To bad it seems last weeks event was the last of the year... well then evil, guess you'll have to wait til next year... however, this give the opportunity to come early to the GSS autox and take a few full speed laps before the autox to find out how fast you can go.

however, knowing you, the EVO might be gone next year, and the camaro will once again rule for another year. we need to all get together with a first gen awd (becuase it'd be cheap), build it for a left hand corner car, and go beat that camaro next year.

You guys think that guy is unbeatable or something. I should have beat him, but i opened up the inside and i didn't trust the driver(people told me before the race he will hit me if need be), so i left the inside open and stayed high. With me simply on R-compunds i would beat him, hell, just a rematch and I would beat him.

How can that be the last spectator race? Is it a very short season or what?

TomKat

Well if that was the last spectator race that sucks.

I want a shot at this uber Camaro.

Alignment. Right front you want as much negative camber as possible.
Left front - 0
Left rear - 0

Sorry no hot laps around Golden Sands before the event begins. However we usually have turns 3 and 4 wide open which will give you a really good idea on how fast you can take those corners.

I think it would be fun to have all CWSCC guys/gals show up on the same night and everyone spec race. Normally there are three or four cars but on the night we choose there could be 20! Maybe even have CWSCC stickers made for the right side of the car.

I'm wonder how AWD vs AWD would turn out in turn one!

just make sure you get the inside lane and youll have him, i came damn close, make sure you get a "Camaro's belong in the trailer park" sticker on your back window... I want to see that thing get beat by the "fart popper"!!!

devlish
07-16-2007, 04:47 PM
i'd like to see it beat by ANY 4cyl import... free stickers for the back window stating anything related to MULLETS and CAMAROS and TRAILERPARKS!!!

We looked at the schedule, maybe for the Eve of Destruction they might have another one, but that one is dangerous because of the amount of junk cars doing it.
VPT - His car has damage, has tires marks on it, he will hit you, and i was not going to let that happen, if we still had franks laser we could do it!

Darth is a little too purdy to get rammy with some 80's Camaro.

hell, my car is even too purty to be hit by a camaro....

franks laser would have been the hot ticket...

I'd give it a shot. If he hits my car he will be getting hit in the face repeatedly until someone pulls me off! It should make for some good entertainment either way. :D I would also be willing to put some good stickers on the back window. I do think it would be fun to have a group of cwscc people race one night.

I knew that would discourage alot of people(the price). I wanted to see, to put it simply, the people i grew up with at the track. I spent every weekend there as a kid, so running into all those people was worth the price.

Wait you have to pay to spec race? WTF is that all about. Do you win any money if you take first place?

Pointdsm
07-25-2007, 11:46 AM
No, you get a trophy though. After that comment, i'll say this, you guys will pay the same amount, to run your car at the drag strip, but won't in a circle, against competition, in front of more rednecks than you would ever like to see. I think that beats out WIR, then again, i did have another reason for going.

TomKat

WTF Guy?????

That sounds like a typical Packers fan talking about racing.

devlish

you pay the same for an autox. i think it'd be worth the $30 to spank some mullet wearing redneck and his 'unbeatable' camaro, especially with a 4banger.

i give props to eric for doing it. we've all talked about it over the years, but no one has actually done it.

isnt the spec race only 1 lap anyway?? I grew up in the pits there with our race cars and i never remember a spec race with more than 1 lap..

TomKat
07-25-2007, 05:10 PM
Yes it's one lap.

I have done it in the past. Beat Charlie Rossier's uber Camaro with the Grand Am.

I'll do it with my silver talon, if he hits me, i dont fuckin care, I can part my car out and probably make just as much than if I sell it all together.
