If I had an EVO, I might get those..

you need some 20mm spacers and extended studs to make those fit. and its on 17 x 8. i've been looking for another set of 17x9's.

I'm pretty sure the +30 17x8 is a direct bolt on. No spacers needed. They fit the 245 hoosiers just fine.

i could be wrong, i heard they only make these wheels in a really high offset and all the RPF1's required spacers.

regardless its a good deal, but that extra inch in width makes a big difference. rims make wide tires.

He just dropped the price to $800 and he confirmed spacers aren't needed.

you should pick them up, and mount those A032r's on them rims.

Offset is too much otherwise I would have got them for the Mazda

I don't want to drive to Miltown or I would pick them up. It would be fun to kill those tires at the Milwaukee mile event.

I know of someone coming up from Milwaukee this weekend driving a Ford Ranger...

New sets of most Volks will run you $3000

Yea... to me the extra inch of width isn't worth the additional $1400 in premium.

However if you have the cash laying around and you bought the rims used selling them used will normally net you what you paid as long as you don't go and fuck them up.

your compairing some RPF1's to Volk's?

I've seen a few sets of 5zigen 17x9's go for $650 shipped.

between curbs and pot holes on track, its pretty dang hard to keep some mint Volks mint, unless your a car show guy.

5zigen are one of the weakest wheels out there next to rotas.

I would only trust a forged wheel on a track car. I'm quite happy with a 245 tire on an 8" rim. I've run 10.5" wide BFG R1s on the same 8" rim and saw unusual wear patterns ... but they worked. I wouldn't buy 9" wide rims for a 255 tire. I would skip the middle of the road tires and move to something even wider like 265/275.

That size tire will probably need more camber and fender mod so you might as well just go with a 9.5" rim which is a better match anyway.

you contradict yourself too much.

9in wide wheel offers no drawbacks, anything bigger and you'll be rubbing through fender liners.

i dont care what kind of rim you have, forged BBS or some cheap rotas, you hit something big on/off track, you'll damage your rim. even the big named rims, (SSR's, Wedsports) are prone to bending/cracking. use your 80/20 rule!

Yes. 80/20 rule. Stock BBS forged wheels X2.

stock evo 8 wheels, 1/5th the price, same performance results.

^ Not forged and heavy. You have to set standards and forged is the standard.

^ thats BS. you going to Milwaukee Mile?

No. I didn't like the venue.

But I'll give you a bit of safety advice. The entry to the banked oval from the infield is VERY hard on the suspension. It will feel fine in the car but you are compressing the front drivers side strut big time. Make sure that the brake line bracket from the strut isn't in line with the brake line or its possible you will chop it in two! When rotating tires I could see marks in the undercoating from the brake line bracket which meant I as seeing at least 5" of suspension compression.

My RS has almost a foot and a half of suspension travel, it should be ok, I hope.

Snowball was fine last year. Rubbed the crap out of the 17" tires in the rear though.

The EVO did just fine also. The factory rubber brake lines are still in one piece not two.

with the added camber and your coilovers, the brake lines run really close to the inner fender. under extreme compression it comes really close. I havent had any issues with it, yet.

I might bring my 323 for the mile, not my Corolla. Just to have driven two different vehicles on the Mile. Plus it's got cold AC and a nice radio. Depends on the weather I guess. Probably put my Hoosier R-comps on though. Might be too much tire for those brakes stock disc and drum, with autozone semi-metallic pads in front, lol!
