I know a lot of people are going to Brainerd this weekend but a couple of members on here posted on another forum about going to WIR. We will be there this Friday trying to "spin the world" and helping out some of the high school drivers. If your there and need help or just want to introduce yourself stop by our car or trailer. (#464)

Thanks,

Paul

That's $20 too much. The event ought to be called "Jobless hillbillies sit and spin".

I hope it rains.

Test and tune is $25.00 and if your still in high school it's $15.00. Pit passes are $5.00. Your guarnteed at least three runs and if you don't get any more let me know and I'll talk to Roger. We've got HDTV and video facilities in the trailer if you want to play back some of your runs at the track. Also tools, comp air and ice cold......well you know what. LOL

Hey Jeff, it's OK, it's just the internet. I can introduce you to some of those "Hillbillies". Brad Hardel - Sheriff of Waupaca County, Terry Lorge-Police Chief of Clintonville, Jim Greenheck who owns a small (LOL) company in Schofield called Greenheck Fan, and your favorite, Roger(the owner of Deliverance Raceway). Rain? No problem. We've got 560 sq. ft. under cover, TV/DVD, 200 watts of music, food and drinks, grill, etc. It's all good.

And.......I'm glad you not jobless like me. Next time your working in my neighborhood, I'd like the paper on the porch.....I'm getting tired of finding it in the bushes. LOL

Everyones invited to stop by our trailer. Remember, this is a High School night and the evening is scheduled around thier program. You may get more than three runs in depending how fast things move along. Track opens at 4pm. If you really need to make a lot of runs there are better options. We will be having a private track rental day at WIR on July 23rd from 10 am to 4 pm with unlimited runs for $30. If anyone is interested you can ask me about it tommorrow.

Tom,

This is organized by a couple of people from the valley that I met at the Race Shop in Seymour last year. It is capped at 80 cars and the people from last year have first choice. It's slicks or drag radials only. They will have full track and safety crew. I will call you with details.

DOT tires are much harder and chew up the launch pad, requires more prep and fixing as I understand.

I think your right, something about track prep. We've been doing this for 12 years and I honesty don't know. I just do what I'm told and write the checks. LOL There will be some 6 and 7 sec cars there and I think they make the rules. Nice meeting you last night Paul (Don'tStopMe) and thanks for the video. Best ever 60ft and ET last night thanks to Camaro 2010 (Jay).

So what did you get?

Hey Tom,
I normally wouldn't post any times for the car we took because it's a dedicated 1/4 mile car and really doesn't fit the profile of the cars on this website, i.e. not a daily driver or street legal, but since you asked, we ran a 10.855 ET with a 1.47 short time...on motor.

Hey Tom (again),

Off the Brainerd/MAP website: "Drag Racing will be the weekends main attraction featuring a mix of FWD, AWD, and RWD cars. Most of the imports are turbocharged cars that can fly down the track. Last years quickest run of the week was 8.465 sec at 167.07mph." Do you have any info on this year?

Paul

I know while i was watching in the stands they ran another 8.4 but i was only there for about 20 min.

I didn't get over to the drag racing side.

I'm hoping next year we can take some 1/4 mile runs for a triple challenge - drag, autocross, time attack.

Did someone just say time attack???

Yes.

Well, he spelled it wrong. He had his voice recognition software running, and was talking about some herbal spices, when a stray leaf lodged in his throat and made him cough: "Thyme at--Ack!!"

and dammit! I want to bring at least two cars next year. My AE86, and my Wagon. AND my EVO if I get one (probably not, I want to get a house with a nice shop first). This Corolla isn't really that fast, but it's SO fun to drive!!!
