Columbus 151 Speedway has announced the formation of a new club for tuners.
The very first meeting is scheduled for Thursday July 8th. Gates open at 5pm.
We will meet on subsequent Thursdays, culminating in a weekend drifting competition.
The finalists will advance to the intermission of a Friday night show. They will drift for racing fans that will decide a winner.
Attendees on Thursday July 8th will have a rare opportunity to become founding members of an organization dedicated to providing a safe environment to engage in an activity that is both dangerous and illegal on the street.
Any drift capable street legal licensed compact car is eligible.
Under 18 will require parental consent.
The grandstands and the meeting are free.
The open drift sesssion is $15.00 for unlimited track time in 3 min increments until dusk.
Do not miss your chance to get in on the ground floor of what may be the hottest new thing around !!
Columbus 151 Speedway is located between Sun Prairie and Columbus. Hwy 151 Exit 111. Follow the signs.

Holy crap. Could you pick a worse place to go drifting.

Walls, walls, big tires, river, light poles, flower planters.

You are only charging $15 to let people drift? That's really cheap. Isn't drifting insurance big $$$$?

Yes I could pick a worse place for drifting. The street. That is where it is happening now.

The walls and tires and flower pots never move, I promise they will stay off of the drifting surface the whole evening.

Yes $15.00 Is cheap. It is to attract cars.
We have them coming from Minnesota and Chicago.

Insurance is big money. This will not be profitable for the track.

Judging by the drifting exhibitions I have witnessed, there is ample room to drift here.

This is not for the faint of heart. It is not meant to be.
The obstacles you describe make it exciting.
Exciting things are what people pay to see.

If this fledging club can create a show worth watching, people may pay to see it.
If enough people will pay to see it, I will pay you to do it.
You don't get that from a parking lot.

We are only attempting to do something positive here.
What it becomes remains to be seen.
You may choose to pass up your opportunity to be a founding member.
Many have not. I posted this event before noon today.
I have 7 cars pre-registered and another 9 cars tentative. In only the first ten hours. I expect a great turnout.

What a treat it would be if the end result was one less injury on the street, or one less fistful of tickets gets written.

I hope you reconsider and feel compelled to attend.
We would love to have you.

Call now and save another $5.00.
I will add your name to the pre-registered list.
You pay at the gate, just not as much.

Unless your scared.

P.S. Next up, a motorcycle stunt show. Yoo Hoo!

someone has some video of me and my STI doing a powerslide around that track someplace.

I like your ambition in getting new things to your track. I hope they work out well for you.

Living proof it can be done.

Thank you for the supporting words. Some Poo Poo.

I am just an old gear head that is addicted to burning rubber and racing fuel.

You can help me get my "fix".

Call me, I would love to talk about it.

so, your rules breifely mentiond "street legal licensed compact car" does that mean I can't bring, say, a Diplomat or Caprice? Or, say a caged and LS1'd RX7 that's not street legal?

Just wondering...
