Dang. I dunno if I'll have enough time to get my corolla ready. I'm gonna try, though! If i DO go, I'll run the 22x7x13 SRF Goodyear Eagles for the lapping day, and the Hankook Z214 C51 for the HSAX. Except that's going to be a PITA for tire transportation. Dangit.

I'd worry about a few weeks of water collection if the car had 2x as much power, 315s stickies all around and and massive brakes, and I could trail brake with it. But right now, not so.

My plan as of now is to leave midnight friday night. then i only have to camp out one night.

Email from Blake at MAP:
As far as the condos on site go, they are completely rented out. So I couldn't guarantee everyone a bed in what we have reserved. I personally booked myself a room at the Super 8 on expedia, and used this coupon code to save some $20 bucks 10spring10.

Keeping the car, but don't plan to compete in any events as of this point on. At least with how I feel about things so far this year. I'm just flat out not having any fun at the events, and a few other "issues" to boot that just make me not want to be part of it anymore.

I don't know you or anything about your situation but in 2008 I was having the same issue with just not having fun at events.

In 2009 I made a change and bought a very different car than the ones I had been racing previously and started skipping events if I woke up in the morning and just didn't feel like going. I've had the most fun racing since I made that change than I had for a while before that.

Well for me it's not the car, I LOVE my new car, but it's a mix of a few other things. Mostly personal issues. Kinda like what you said, about waking up and if you don't feel like going, don't go. May give that a shot. Only time will tell. As of right now though, no real interest.

That is exactly why I haven't been able to make it to any events so far. I always have to work! Except last Sunday, I chose to spend the day with my dad since I had off from work and he did too. With everyone having quit the store (yes Megan that means you =) I always end up working.

Just an FYI....I called the track today to see what their gas prices are. The guy told me they don't sell 93 oct at the track but they do have race gas. It was the typical price of 6.50 or something so not as bad has BHF.

There is a gas station right out front of the track but I'm pretty sure its only 91. I know some of you guys run 93. So just so you know.

I might fill up a gas can in the cities where i can get 93 and then just mix 91 and race gas after thats gone.

That's gonna be fun. I can see that my AE86 might do darned well in the tight spots, because they dont *look* so tight from that vid. But I'm going to feel slow, since I really don't have much power... Guy's maintaining 110+ around that sweeper. d'oh!!

I've never run on these tires before either. 22x7.0x13, normally used on Spec Racer Fords. I'm a little heavier than an SRF car, but hopefully they'll be a nifty tire. Cheap, too!!

Silly. go to bed!!

I'm finally slowing down, and need to sleep. Tomorrow it's mount the tires, bolt 'em on, bed in the brakes, load the car on the trailer, pack the van, start driving. Today I changed the oil, put the exhaust manifold/downpipe back on, put the distributor back on, completely flushed the brake system with Supertech, then re-flushed with fresh superBlue. Then installed my Carbotech pads.

Then emptied the van, fixed the windows in the van, hooked up the trailer, checked the lights, loaded some of the van. All of this was after getting done with work.

Duh. Why do I do this to myself!?

Yes, thanks GSW & Dizmm & TK for running the weekend!! Best weekend of racing i've ever attended! The track facility was great! in my opinion, everything ran fairly smoothly. the road course was a fricken blast!!! that super-sweeper was downright scary even after taking it 20-30 times! you can just keep pushing yourself and the car, and it seems there is always room for improvement, even when you're already taking it at nearly 120! I can't wait til next year!!

I'm a little disapointed that we didn't get ANY video or pictures. I hope those guys watching the CWSCC-SuperShootout post their video, it's better than nothing i'm sure

Is there a post-brainered meeting going on somewhere? if so, i'd love to attend, but I cannot make TT if that where it is...

Thanks everyone for making it happen , turned out to be a VERY inexpensive track day ,
The track was very laid back but on top of most things ,
It was incredible to be a part of such a huge event taking a drive thru the campground reminded me of how many people actually attended and how proud i was that our CWSCC crew was able to have a hand in running it ,
Heres some interesting facts i found about the road course , if you were in the 1:50s you were fast if you were in the mid 1:40s you were VERY close to the all time (non indy car) track record .so props to the entire crew as i was amazed at the driving skill put on display there.
I wish we couldve had Paul here with us he woulda had a field day with all the events think your best wet dream about cars ever and multiply it ..
And the DIZZM GSW battle never happened we will fix this .

Yea that was a great time. Very inexpensive weekend like you said. Getting there and back was a little tricky with all the weekend get away idiots that can't drive but other than that the track was awesome. The CWSCC laps were great. Two spins in one session haha, thank goodness nothing happened. And damn you Kurt for going back out and running faster than me haha.

Driving home on 10 and 73 at night is like playing a real life game of Frogger.

Also going back to work on a Monday after running 100+ mph all weekend long just doesn't seem that exciting.....

That was by far the most fun weekend of racing I have ever had. Thanks to all that spent the time in organizing it for when we got there. I loved the high speed corners on that track. I enjoyed this track more than Blackhawk. Great driving by everyone from CWSCC that went. We were all haulin' @$$ out there. Minus the track owner, I don't think anyone was faster than all of us.

I still am in shock of the Time-Attack style laps times vs. the standing start times though.

That was a VERY cool weekend, the track was awesome, even if a bit bumpy.

I really need to paint my car, so it doesn't think the yellow primer makes it an old Case tractor, so it stops wanting to go on agricultural excursions. Those gravel pits are kinda cool, though.

I may have got some good video, hopefully it's not too shaky, since my camera mounting apparatus tends to bounce a bit. Unless there's some software that can take care of it. I haven't even unpacked the van yet, much less check out the video. I backed into my driveway at 0330 this morning. crashed hard, then got awoken by the cell phone. Apparently, there was a power outage here at work, and the phone system was fooked in the process. oh joy. This was supposed to be a vacation day, dammit!

Anyways, thanks guys for getting us an awesome hookup on some sweet track time! Next time, I'm bringing some citronella tiki torches, stoopid mosquitoes!

The CWSCC shootout was epic. I'd have to rate it better than the MSCC shootout at GingerMan years ago.

4 laps. Sarge in the lead with his AE86. Then I think it was SnowX with the Mazda 3 speed. Then Draven with the STI. Then Deadly Evolution with the EVO IX. Then Devlish with the STI. Then me with the EVO 8.5 followed by Dizmm with his EVO 8.

Sarge and Deadly ended up spinning. - it got pretty exciting. Then Dizmm and myself were bumper to bumper and side by side going 100+ passing in turns 1 and 2. Too bad Dizmm's tires went away and I wish Getsideways could have been there to head up to the front of the pack.

I was very impressed with everyone from our crew's driving. Nice job.

When I took a break from the lapping day to see how the autocross was going I was blown away by a car going out on course every 15 seconds and weaving they were all doing between going on course, leaving the course, and getting back into grid. Extremely well organized.

Some better communication with MAP registration would help too because there were a lot of people that came from paying and didn't seem to know that they needed to get teched and show us their paperwork before running, hence the "unknown names". Better communication with them would have made the whole weekend run more smoothly. And a more precise schedule listing when participants needed to be where would have helped the events run more on time. We had a lot of stragglers showing up late.

But I think that things ran pretty well considering that most of us had never been there before.

That being said, I had a blast guys! thank you so much for working the course so we could enjoy the day. I will definitly be back next year, and will try to get as many people from the Badlands club to come out as well. I was amazed that we got to run 11 runs even after starting an hour late!

I'll go back and check the hand written times and made sure they were put in the computer correctly. that tie between the miata and M3 is weird, i'll double check. Also everyone classed themselves, and that CRX put himself in ENA, which is a street tire only class. I guess its too late to check now.

we started on time. 10am was first car out. the drivers meeting however was moved to 9:30 because of all the late registrations.

Thanks for coming, next year will be better. We'll have our display, PA for announcements, and hopefully a better/longer course layout now that i know what we have to work with.
