Going to have any events over there this year?

It's probably too early to tell. I went to one last year and though it was nice to drive it I don't think I would go back again.

Lots of slow cars holding me up with few places to pass.

Lots of cars going off and dragging dirt on the track.

Going on to the oval was very hard on suspension.

I'd rather make the drive to Grattan and get everything all of the local tracks offer and then some!

Evil, you're funny shit sometimes. I like your use of language there, "it was nice to drive it". Made laugh. So the slow cars made it feel like a drive?

They not letting you pass or what? Maybe you're just complaining too much?

There are MANY other tracks that i'd hit up before MM.

Midwest Council will be at Milwaukee Mile on Labor Day weekend.
I'll be there.

Saturday Sept. 4th - lapping day.

Monday Sept. 6th - high speed autocross.

Not the greatest track, but cheap and not that far away. I never had any issues going from the infield to the oval with the EVO, Snowball, or my 240SX. Stock suspension FTW.

Oh well....

The track is too small for a lapping day with fast cars..... it was very congested. Also difficult to get a point by from some slow motion a-holes.

Even though there are some Esses in the infield it requires no skill to navigate. Basically you cut the corner on each one and its nearly a straight line. Then you turn around and go through a 100mph sweeper with restricted passing. If you end up behind a CRX you are stuck coasting at 65mph through that section.

And lastly.... the lady at the gas station wouldn't allow me to put race fuel in my car directly from the pump. I had to put it in a jug then dump it in my tank. Bitch.

Putting leaded gas into a street car newer than 1975 is illegal. She's just doing her job.

ah. I get it now. That'd be rather irritating even in the damn Scion....

Now I didn't go to the autocross but I bet that wouldn't be all that bad. You don't get alot of track time but at least you get an open track.

You would have to ask TK how the thought it compared to GSS/MSS. If they worked some cones into the course it might be even more interesting.

You can say this about any track.

I personally found MM very challenging and if you love high speed this is a track for you. I ran Snowball at the lapping day and never had a problem with getting held up.

GSS/MSS ?????

Snowball was probably the root cause of the rush hour traffic.

GSS - Golden Sands
MSS - Marshfield

I was at the MM HPDE last year in my AE86. It was fun, because it was different than anything else I'd driven on before. Cool part was, there was another AE86 there to play with.

Biggest thing that bugged me, was there was these cars that could go faster than me in the straights, so I'd point them by. Then I'd be lounging behind them for the ENTIRE rest of the track, they couldn't even go fast around the huge big sweeper at the end. so I'd be right on their ass at the end of the straight going into turn 1. To make it even worse, there were some A-holes that wouldn't even wait for a point, they'd dive in on you AFTER the passing zone. Nearly caused some accidents a few times.

track for track, grattan is WAY better, but it IS an event, that's fairly close, and fairly cheap. I'll most likely be there again this year, hopefully for both the HPDE AND autoX this year.

I'll have to check it out in this case, I might just bring the Scion for shits and giggles so it doesn't feel like I get held up.... Who knows.

So you want to compare Goldend Sands and Marshfield autocross events to a Milwaukee Mile high speed autocross? Just wanted to clear this up.

On the fun-o-meter..... where 1 is Tommies turnpike and 10 is Grattan.... how does MM compare to MSS/GSS? I give GSS a 4 and MSS a 6.... is MM greater than 7? I'm not sure.

the fun-o-meter needs to be averaged with the cost-o-meter which will give you a total value-o-meter.

Comparing MSS and GSS autocross to a high speed MM autocross is like comparing a bicycle to a car.

Can't compare them properly.
