Some sample pics for a guy. Personally I like the strait out slash cuts like in the first pics. But its up to you, you let me know, I haven't welded them on yet.

The angle isn't quite what you asked for in the second pics but its somewhat close. Its just for a visual idea. Plus the depth isn't set right yet either, I didn't want to cut them to short before I knew for sure what you wanted. You can PM me with your thoughts.

I personally think the angle running with the lines of the bike look better, the other way is too much like a car or truck.

i like the "other way" better too. little more angle, so it angles on both axis'. little closer together too if possibly, in the very first pic it looks like they angle outwards left/right. just a touch closer together at the tips might make a guy happier. just an RCH closer though...

any pics of the chambered muffler yet?

me too. i got the Db meter all ready to go to compare these... stock:open:vpt as well as i'm finding a good scale to see how much lighter the VPT exhaust is... my guess is at least 6-7lbs lighter. the VPT aluminum exhaust will be getting powdercoated matte-black once it's finished up. should be interesting.

Im always fascinated by your work VPT. Whats the muffler going on?

Cut down the angles from 30 degrees in the original pics to 42 degrees and than twisted about 30 degrees inward on the top. Once the box is powder coated I think it will all look pretty decent. It is a bit louder than I was shooting for but we'll see what Kurt says with the bike outside.

Have to make up two hangers and weld them on yet Than license plate brackets than clean and debur the whole thing.

I still say leave the tips silver/aluminum.

I don't think we can get accurate suggestions without a pic with the silver cover and seat on. I'll get on that here in a second.

egh, agreed. now that you throw the seat on, i like it better silver. we didn't put the seat on yesterday, that does make a difference. i'll just get the box done, and the insides if i can.

picked up the bike tonight. i LOVE the way it looks, amazing job!! the sound at idle is great! Full throttle the bike screams just like it should, the cruise level is a bit loud, but we'll see how it goes after a hundred miles or so. also installed the PineBox rear taillight LEDs, and those look very nice too!! more finished pics later this week, along with sound clips and Db levels of VPT vs Stock.

Thanks again VPT! nice work as usual!

he's been on the back a few times already, ordered him a proper sized helmet for his bday today!!! (previously he's worn the GF's helmet, fits fine, he just hates the pink!)

BTW, that videos is NUTS!!!! WOW! that little kid is good, but you sure it's not just Jake riding that thing? ha

Glad you like it! When you left I was happy to hear that it was really no louder than any other bike that drives past on the street.

cool. thanks man!
then i'll just wait to get it back to get some more pics. we're leaving the tips silver, inside & out. spraying black down into the chamber, and the outside of the "muffler" section as well will be matte black.

videos were taken with just a little Nikon handheld, the microphone isn't the best, but it worked pretty good. has a nice deep sound at idle, and sounds great when you get on it!! not too loud or raspy in person.

Thanks again VPT!!
