Anyone playing this year? We're combining teams with the Village Idiots this year. They're usually in the top 30, we're usually in the top 90, so it should be interesting. We'll see if my team (the Nude Clown Dancers) can actually be of any help!!

Our team was top 60 last year hoping to sub 50 this year though. We'll see, can't wait!

Yes, the Cat is of utmost importance. He will ensure a high score (or at the very least a lot of laughs).
Just make sure you don't do what you did last year or you'll end up with the Cat again! Or at least don't admit to it!

Considering only 29 teams ACTUALLY try I don't think you all did so good. Sure there are 400 teams but most are simply partying.

I disagree. For a trivia team to get into the top 100 is quite an accomplishment. Top 50 is very difficult and those teams are really trying, but of course it is all just for fun. :D

Final place: 25th. And VPT, I think you're completely wrong. Over the years I've stopped in at many teams to visit friends, etc. and ALL of them were trying. Yes, many of them are concerned with partying, but a lot of them are actually trying too. Not everyone takes it as seriously at Network (who came in second this year, btw!), but like TK said, it's only a fun game.

Whoooo! 25th.
And even better the cat is out of my basement.
barubabe, who got the cat?
I checked out at about 9:30. I was essentially worthless.

That's exactly why I checked out when I did, too. That and I wanted to see the hubby for at least a little while. Besides two all-nighters in a row was a little much...guess I'm getting old.
Not sure who got the Cat. Pias probably took it home, but I'm not sure. Just know it wasn't me! :D
And Tyger...30th is nothing to sneeze at...despite what VPT says!

Barubabe was using her ESPN. Although VPT did not make any posts on this thread I'm sure he's against trivia.

I didn't realize he played. Well, good for him. Takes a lot of hard work to place that high. I'm just happy someone beat Network this year. It's about damn time!

Our team finished 166th which is good considering we have one computer, dial-up internet, a table full of books, and a bunch of tired brains.
They used to plac in the top 20 before high-speed internet.

I know one question your team got right for sure! Besides the Robert Redford one in the beginning.

She must have been joking, dial-up has not been used in over a decade.

No I am not mistaken...the house where we play is part way between Point and Amherst and for whatever reason it is nearly impossible for them to get anything faster without paying a grand. He has looked into it.

Hey, we still have dial up (through localnet) and it's actually not that bad. Of course, if you spend most of your time watching videos or downloading music, it sucks. But for checking email, etc. it isn't that bad. TC...if your Trivia locale has Amherst telephone, they're offering a new deal that has digital tv, dsl, and phone service for $100/month. B and I will be partaking of that for sure. Everything runs right through your phone line. Checked it out, did some research, and for where we live (and with the morons Charter is being) it's the way to go. Plus, part of the package lineup is NFL Network, so if Charter decides to be a bunch of dickheads and not show the Packer game, we would likely still get it.
