Long story short, some asshat on hwy 13 plowed his driveway across the hwy. I hit the big line snow. I did 360's down the snowbank. car = damaged

It's mostly fixed now. Just waiting on the shop to get to me about finishing the fenders.

Also, I may or may not be attending, I may be fixing the AllTrac. I have someone willing to either sell or donate me a motor + head with Ferrea race valves.

Found a 2nd gen 3sgte block, head, valves, engle springs, retainers, clips, ats cam gears, and toyota overhaul gasket kit for about $900.

not sure if that's worth it because I'm then stuck with putting the rest of the parts list together.

I may just go with a fully built motor right out of the box for $2200.....

The All Trac may have to wait a while.

But sitting is basically the worst possible thing you can do. Sititng for a 3-hour drive, and then driving at the event, and a 3-hour drive home, in a sparsely-padded Corbeau. yeah, that'll make it hurt. And tire changing. damn.

Worst thing isn't actually sitting, it's continuous bad posture. I actually started doing a bit of research, and even bought a couple books, and I've got nearly ALL of my pain gone at times!! However, just doing little stuff, like lifting a battery, carrying a load of laundry, can ruin the progress, if I space out and bend wrong. :(

I can't stress enough how much this book has helped put this into perspective. it's called 'Fix Your Own Pain Without Drugs or Surgery", by Jolie Bookspan, PH.D.

Not just a bunch of mumbo jumbo, but good solid advice, with explanations WHY to do specific stretches and exercises. I ran across a website of hers, and tried some of her advice, and in less than 20 minutes, I was actually able to WALK again without uber-pain!

If anybody's got some back pain that's killing them, and making them go out of their mind with frustration, lemme know, I'll send you the section of the book that I made a PDF of. It helped me a LOT, so it might help you too.

theres actualy a machine called a reverse hyper extension that can seperate bulged disks in your back and increase fluid to them while re-aligning them, its great for people with herniated disks in their back also.
it actualy reversed a friend of mines 2 buldged disks, hes a proffessional strongman and still deadlifts 800lbs+, yolk walks with 1000lbs+ on his b ack, with zero issues, the machine is a miracle worker. theres only one in central wisconsin as far as I know and he owns it.. if you'd like to give it a try sometime im sure we can arrange somthing

dunno for certain, it's kinda bugged me for a long long time, several years even, but it's been getting continually worse since november, when i did a bunch of wheel/tire changing. with a manual changer, all levers and brute strength.

I think that a ost of it has to do with sitting in front of a desk all day, and in a car, and on a couch, but never really keeping the spine in proper alignment, which puts massively more pressure on the wrong place.

I thought 'hey, I'll just go to the gym and work out, that'll strengthen my core enough to fix this'. Well, the exercises i was doing were kinda more of the same, just in different positions.

I think the worst part was when the guys I went with had us doing straight-legged deadlifts with dumbbells. that's about the worst possible way to put multiplied forces from a wrong angle on your discs.

There are a few places in Rapids, that will mount 17" and up tires. I ALWAYS have issues with this.

Firestone (Matthews) will do it but they charge extra.

Walmart will "sometimes' do it depends which moron/s is working but they are cheaper.

8th Street Auto will do it for like $6 but they are rather hard to work with because they have shitty hours and only one guy who changes tires.

I think most places are scared of maybe scratching a rim. With a little extra care its really not an issue. even with our 1980's tire changer i can change a real low profile tire on an 18in without scratching (however i dont promise anything unless your frank, then i do promise to scratch up your rim).

yeah saturday works, probably around 6-7ish after the few alignments out at franks.

We charge $50.00 in/out the door for all 4 mounted/balanced.. I would actually rather do low profile car tires over the big truck tires we do sometimes. Those things are heavy as f**k and suck to balance! We can do up to 27" rims!

Yes I feel that most places are over priced, then to gouge for "low profile tires" is crap. Prices ranging from $6 to $40 a tire something is wrong. Now multiply that x 4 and you're really talking about a good chunk of change. A competent and qualified tire tech can change and balance most tires in under 10 minutes each on a walk in.

I was in the garage working on stuff all day Saturday until around 2am on Sunday. I opened the top drawer of my tool chest, which is at head level, to take something out. Even though we all know better, I neglected to close it. About a minute later, I did close it by jamming my forehead into the corner of it. Hard.

How does Jake like the miata? Everything you ever dreamed it could be?

It’s a lot harder to drive than any of the other cars I have raced. I think that if I would have bought one with a bit less power it would have made an easier transition to RWD. I don't fit as well in this car as I did in the Honda’s surprisingly, that is a huge issue holding me back right now. The Miata itself is a blast and I couldn’t have expected more. I enjoy the convertible a lot more than I thought I would, the car gets more compliments from strangers than anything else I have owned. Best part of the Miata that I have noticed so far is that it attracts the bitches, hollering at me from the street wanting to go for a ride… crazy ladies.

However I have noticed that it attracts creepy old men too, this past week I have had 5 older dudes come up and ask me if I wanted some candy… Its very odd. I tend to have a few more shady looking vans following me around town also, each one has a NAMBLA sticker on it….

There is a ton of time and money involved with photography, I think $15 for a cd of all of the photos is a reasonable price, and its his right to charge what he thinks is a fair price. For my photos I happily accept donations to offset my time and equipment expenses, but I will also just as happily give my photos away as well.

Your correct it is his right to charge whatever he wants. I assumed he brought his car to run and also took some pic like other people on the forum do. If he paid a pit pass fee just to take pictures then that is kinda a different story.

I don't find it very hard to download pictures to a CD, but everyone is different. If someone wanted some pic's that I took I'd do it for free and only ask for a CD to replace the one I gave them. But I hardly ever bring the wife's camera to events to take pic's. That is just me. I've had a lot a people on the forum offer help and ask for nothing in exchange. I try to return the favor whenever I can. Karma.

Nope, $25 to just download the one picture in full res. It wasnt even edited up or anything, just his original jpg file right off his camera.

We are really lucky to have a few really good photographers that are heavily involved with our club.

Yes I did not allow download of highres photos off the site...figured people would not have a problem shelling out a few bucks for good pics of there cars. That being said there is some very good talent in photographers on here. It was cool to see new and old friends that day.
