Yes a snowmobile actually showed up and compete. I just about fell over and suprisingly it did not break down. It was on studs however so a fair comparison would have to include a car on studded tires.

Just about every sled I've ridden was without studs. As a matter of fact once you put studs on a sled you really limit where you can ride them.

You put studs and carbides on your sled. No more trail riding for you unless you can find a trail that never crosses a paved road. Or you can limit yourself to lakes I guess.



All of my sleds have had studs and carbides from day one. I only trail ride my sleds. My last sled I racked up over 10K miles on before trading it in on the original studs and maybe 5th set of carbides.
