DAMN, i wanted to vote in this election too, well, hopefully this mayor brings a little business to the area and make the place look alot better. I don't know about you, but compared to alot of towns, point doesn't look all that clean and welcoming either.

Win or lose Mike Wiza is throwing a parting tonight at joes downtown.

Pointdsm
04-03-2007, 06:50 PM
Well, this town(whitewater) has the greenest grass, and cleanest downtown and streets i've ever seen, maybe this place is just weird. Maybe its just to early up in point for the grass to be green, i never payed attention to it till now really.

Madison wisconsin was voted the best city in the united states to take a "stroll" in, no joke, must have really green grass there...

I voted again today. Watching the numbers for Mayor really opens your eyes..... very few people showed up and voted today..... considering the population the turn out was down right sad.

Yeah you can.... When you got off of papers you were eligable to vote again, it says right in the P&P office... I just saw the sign a week ago. I'm pretty sure anyhow, otherwise I'm on the same boat you are.

Pointdsm
04-03-2007, 11:47 PM
Correct, in wisconsin, if your still under watch by the government, you can't vote, but once you are completely released, you may vote.(hope i'm thinking of the right state)

I am pretty sure if you are a convicted felon, you can't vote or own a gun. I could be wrong though.

Pointdsm

I know you can't own a gun, but if you are no longer under parole or probation, you may vote in wisconsin, just looked it up.

So who won the mayor election?

VPT

So who won the mayor election?

Some rich suit that only cares about his buisness's.

So once again remind me why it was important to go vote?

devlish
04-04-2007, 12:05 PM
not so sure how you can say that VPT. would you rather have Wiza win it? with some strange, oldschool ideas, i'm not so sure he was a good choice. i'm happy with Andrew winning it, hes young and i think will bring some new, fresh ideas for development to downtown and throughout the city.

besides, if he only cared about his business, i can guarantee you he would not have taken on the extra stress & work that goes along with mayor, he would have focused solely on his business. running a business is a lot more work than walking out the garage in the back yard to weld some pipes here & there. i know i wouldn't want much more responsibility than this. running one business is enough to keep me very busy and more than mildly stressed out.

yeah, what he said ^^^^

EVILUTION
04-04-2007, 02:56 PM
VPT .... only 5000 people showed up to vote for Mayor..... Halverson won by about 2000 votes.....

If you and everyone else that wanted Wiza to win would have actually voted he would be Mayor right now.

But.... I'm sure you had more important things to do.

barubabe1
04-04-2007, 05:00 PM
Obviously I don't live in St Pt and therefore couldn't vote for mayor, but if I could have, I agree with Ty on just about everything he said. Glad to hear Halverson won.

VPT
04-04-2007, 06:48 PM
Wow, i'm not reading all that crap. Wiza comes in the shop, you can talk to the guy, he listens, he knows people in town. This other guy moved to wisconsin from some crap hole, owns buisness's in town and only cares to expand and build up stevens point for buisness. But you know, it will be fun sitting in traffic jams on 90 degree days. There is much more but I don't much care for this political crap.

barubabe1
04-04-2007, 10:52 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Andy Halverson go to Spash? Hasn't he lived in the Point area for most, if not all, his life? So how could he have "moved to Wisconsin from some crap hole"?

VPT
04-05-2007, 07:56 AM
The guys says he doesn't know what he is doing so to learn something he is going to go talk with some other new mayor from some other town to see what he is sposed to be doing. He said it on public tv.

04-05-2007, 08:55 AM
Andy Halverson grew up in Stevens Point! He has not lived outside of Wiscsonsin! I'm thrilled he won even though I couldn't vote.....:(

As for Wiza, he's a douchebag!!!

No, because once again the wrong guy got in and my one vote didn't mean squat. So like I said before voting is useless and I won't be doing that anymore.

See you are just like everyone else and just listens to what they hear on TV and the radio.

So he had a couple problems with the law, is everyone perfect and never had a problem with the law ever?

Did you hear that the city is hiring in some out of state company for $100K to figure out where we should put our jail because our city is so incompetent they can't figure it out for themselves.
