I've wanted to pick one of these up for years. It is small but it should be enough to handle most jobs I need it for.

Taking weight reduction on cars to the next level! lol

I was in the middle of cleaning in this pic. It is all back together now and I even made a part with it already!

What is the first thing you are going to use it for?

I've used it 3 times so far. 1st time I made a new nob for the crossfeed screw on the lathe. Second time I used it to turn down a bushing, and third time I used it to to reface a handwheel.

The next part I may make with it might be a shift knob if nothing else comes up before than.

I have been busy reading up on making tools and attachments for the lathe with the lathe. Thats one of the cool things about mills and lathes, they can make parts for themselves.

A mill can reproduce itself almost entirely.

I made a mod for my bandsaw with the lathe. I was always having to shim the backside of the jaw on the bandsaw with something when I was trying to cut small pieces. Now I have a screw that I can just adjust to where I need it. Works perfect!

I could actually make one now if you wanted. But I was thinking along the lines of a hammer to remove the glass and tint all in one simple blow.

no, the glass would be still mostly held together by the tint, i'm sure some would be missing, but a lot would still be held together.

actually, that brings up an interesting question... anyone have a car window laying around i could tint and smash with a hammer to see how it holds together with the tint?? i threw out my last car window last week, before i thought of this grand idea.

That grinder is like new 1970-1980 is about right I think. What is vintage is the 1942 lathe! For machining nothing beats old solid american iron!

I dream of the day that I can build anything I need for pretty much anything. People now days don't understand the satisfaction of doing things themselves. They just buy new or pay someone else to do it, which is fine. But I do not like giving other people money for something I know I can do myself.
