Yeah, since I heard that you thing you gonna own me next year after winter?! Please!!! Last time we were trying to run a 1/4, you're white turd couldn't beat me since it was acting up. Now after I most likely be at 550rwhp and on 220 tread wear on the 345 wide tires you think you gonna own me? Maybe on slicks if I stay on stock tires to give ya on the advantage side. So shut your mouth before I smack ya with my wallet. Besides I think that thing wouldn't run a full session. I call ya out at autobahn full track day.

1. no slicks (street tires only no lower than 180 tread wear mine are 220)
2. 93 only
3. meth injection allow (since I'll give ya something to keep up with me)

If you wanna do slicks, I'll get myself a set and I'll just laugh at your face since you won't have a chance. :D

As for rules, I could pretty much supercharge my car, slicks, upgraded 15" rotors and 6 piston, motons, and would you consider that fair?

I was making a point. The only thing that probably kill my car is the supercharger.

Why don't you go for 30min sessions? Be willing to drive out to MID-OHIO? Alot of camber changes. A weekend event in April with the Porsche Club of America. But honestly, this a track you don't wanna miss. I like autobahn and blackhawk but Mid-Ohio is something that is abit more technical.

I will be bringing a street car with DOT tires all year ,, i dont know the specifics yet but by the end of winter i should have it figured out ..
I run race gas because its cheap insurance , ive never run my race tune at the track and never will for a lapping day , only for autox or drag .
I just didnt really care for autobahn much ,, dunno why but i found it rather boring ,, Awesome facilitys and stuff ,except for that poopy road leading to it ..
Id rather hit up the other tracks i mentioned first. before one i didnt care for as much.
THIS IS GONNA BE A FUN SUMMER !!!!!!

It's alright, I'll get over it tho. lol true on the team tech but won't be wearing it on the streets tho lol. It has quick disconnect. So I only put them in once I'm at the track and take em out when I'm done.

I can't wait til this summer! Its gonna rock no matter what. Got my SCT tuner software, I got brakeman #3, Think I'll switch my front tires to my old kumho abit sticker. I am trying to make a choice. race rubbers or coil-overs..... if I go race rubbers I have to trailer it because I have to put it on my stock rims. Or 1600 for used set of rims plus about 1300 for race tires = 2900 no including mounting plus I would have to put it on the trailer just to get everything there. For $3700 I can get the Moton coil overs which is been the best for the Viper guys. Still itching for a cam tho. May not get alot HP but sure sounds sweet.

if its only a few hundred miles to the track, just drive on race rubber. It'll be fine.

Anyway, I got a buddy that is willing to help trailer me. And shit does happen. One of the viper owner that I went out to Mid-Ohio, only thing went wrong was a pulley seized up and snapped the belt and got stranded. You know cant get viper parts anywhere. Plus I don't wanna run race rubber on streets to go to the track. Waste of money and chances of getting a blow out are higher.

Ugh Blackhawk, look what happened last two times. Turbo crapped on my on the S and dealershipped fucked up the order and my Viper was stuck there for almost another week. I wonder whats gonna be next.... but I'll be down for blackhawk. If something does happen again I think I shouldn't go there anymore LOL.

Experienced once at every track but first track at autobahn (full course) with the vipers I got it nailed down on the second session and of course I got 1st in my class. Alot of viper owners were shocked it was my first time in the Viper on a track and first time on that track. Mid-Ohio, nailed it on the 3rd session because first session was wet and was driving on the opposite side of the turns or you gonna spin out (which an evo did there and sti ran off the course...weird huh? lol). The next day they moved me up a group because I was just lapping everyone down and same with the higher group. Alot of the Porsche guys were scratching their head how the hell I got it down so fast and fast around the track. I love trying new things and I can tackle it down pretty quick. I pulled just abit over 150mph on the backstretch at Mid-ohio with plenty more to brake early. I just didn't like how my car was balancing during the braking which is why I need to do abit of suspension work to balance the car better so its not acting like its fish tailing.

I didn't top out the car. I think 130 was all she got ... because you have to slow down and turn at the end of it. To me 130 is crazy fast considering you have to rely on those brakes for the rest of the course. I only see about 115 at BHFs and 120 at Autobahn.

yeah im glad i got the srt viper since it has 14" rotors all around and four piston caliper. i love my late braking but at bhf with S i believe i got 112 (digital speedo) before i fried my brakes. at autobahn, i pulled 120 would had done more but the other viper was in my way lol there were couple spots he could have kept it to the floor around turns. you going to upgrade your brakes at all?

TK (in Zoey) and I THINK Evil on the track at the same time. There were a few EVO's there, but I don't remember if any other ones were black. They all look the same... ;)

I got to ride in both cars, and even got to drive the EVO for a few laps. Somewhere near 130 on the front straight, in 5th. And I wasn't pushing the car as hard as it could go, since it wasn't my car.

Grattan's not scary at all, really.. At not if you've got at least one cojone. I just don't know what car I want to drive there, if I want to take the Corolla, or if I should get the wagon tuned and tweaked, and take it. The corolla's awesome around corners and just plain fun to drive, but doesn't have the raw stinkin' pulling power of the wagon, which is addicting in and of itself!

I had my Escort wagon up to 119 (GPS said so) at Autobahn Full. I passed a few vipers that day myself, actually, lol!

finally got some out of car footage from BHF. Jeff and Andy look like they are freaking flying through the corner where we were parked!

I also set up the camcorder on a tri-pod at BHF and let it record for like 30 min. I have 5 consecutive laps of a black vette not being able to shake a black evo.

Well autobahn is out of the question since GSW don't care for it. Umm blackhawk is okay but like I said on the previous post that something is bound to happen that I would not make it. Road america is nice to do. I would love to do Mid-ohio but who's willing to go way out there? I paid $355 for saturday and sundy which I thought was very reasonable. Plus that was at the last minute pricing.

GSW, make a list what you would be willing to go.

The price of BHFs is usually $180 (Plus - Gas, Food, Brakes, Tires).

Grattan is about an hour north of Gingerman.

Grattan doesn't look like a decent track to me. If I was to drive that far, I drive another 120miles to go to Mid-ohio for a two day event thats cheaper per day and a nicer track. So Thinking of Black hawk Farms or Road America.

Grattan will not be very expensive. Very technical track. Very fun track. It's not that far. We could also hit up GingerMan on the same weekend. Plus a lot of CWSCC people will be there.

The first thing to change before he took that car to the track should've been the points where he put the clutch in. Middle of turns is NOT where to up or downshift. We got him straightened out, though. I think they just had some run-of-the mill "performance" tires on there. I don't think they were all-seasons, but not even Azenis quality, much less any sort of R-comp.

As far as Grattan, I don't remember there being any "poor" conditon spots, like holes or chunks of the pavement falling off (like has been witnessed at BHF on occasion); at least none stood out to me. It's been a couple years now, so maybe the last couple of winters have taken a toll.

Hmm... I might have to hurry up with the freshening of my wagon, just so I can see how it compares to some of these other cars at Grattan!

Grattan had far less traffic than BHFs. The last few times I've gone to BHF I rarely get a clean lap. By mid afternoon at Grattan they opened the track and said come and go as you please. I prefer Grattan to BHFs but I don't like the long drive.

For just a little more farther to drive go to Mid-ohio on April 16-18 guess its three days I'm gonna do only two days. I won't do that track, sorry. As for a match with GSW, I will have Hoosiers A6 tires so he can go all out if he wants. O btw, moton coil-overs ;) $5000msrp but getting them a steal from one of my VCA vendors gotta love being a member haha

The A6 is an autox tire not a lapping day tire. You will destroy them quickly if lapping on them.

I haven't picked up anything yet. Just trying to save up as much cash as I can. Rather pay most of it in cash than put it on my credit lol. Credit is for emergency :D. The moton's will be on for sure but the R6's won't be on at all the track events I go to. I figured that the R6's will only last probably mostly up to 3 event's but I'll be talking to some viper owners that uses R6's at the winter party next month to give me roughly how long they last.

If I keep up with the overtime my job has. I'll be getting a Comp Coupe style or a real one if I can find one for sale along with the front splitter and canards. I would love to get the ACR kit but 14k is outta the question (used to be 40k, what a joke). Hopefully one of those ACR wing and front splitter comes up for sale used but probably still run about 10k.

Maybe you guys can shim in about how long the R6 last? I know it depends on how hard you drive. So pretty much, I drive my car to its limits, and I have alrighty with the PS2 tires and going in hot in the corners.

Moton's can improve handling, corner weigh, lower, has adjustable damping that is easy access and won't blow out once I put the wing and front splitter on later in the year. This is the best investment for me for less than 3 set of R6 that probably only last this summer.

I can make the car unplanted but to be honest, I like to keep my car in one piece. I alrighty have went into a corner too hot and the rear did break lose. You can only go so far with stock which you are a stocker guy ha.

Set of hoosier would cost me just as much what normal PS2 tires would cost.

So yeah you have my answer about the R6 or no?

Coilovers will not save you from going too hot into a corner we had this discusion a month ago with you ,, even though they will make the car feel more stable they will also increase the chances of the car breaking away suddenly or sudden loss of grip , they are way less forgiving(pushed to the limit) then a softer spring

Okay, I have a question, when I brake hard, the rear acts like it wants to whip out. What can be done to fix this. This been my most concern. Thought that maybe I do some suspension work would improve this.

have you competed at any competitive timed events? if not, and don’t plan to, why waste money on coilovers?

If you do plan on doing some high speed auto-x or time attacks, try your car out without the coilovers. Find a real life reason to need them.

And if you do commit to coilovers, get ready to try out various alignments (camber,caster, and toe settings), dampening settings (rebound and compression with the motons), corner weighting, and differ spring rates.

Yeah, the moton can do pretty much anything. I am planning on going to do some NASA not this summer but next summer so this is why I plan on doing some of these mods too. I've also been told by the same vendor that offer me the motons to look into Xbuilder's custom built coil-overs which saves alot of money and does perform very well but limited to some settings

I'm was running Brakeman #3 up front and I ran the EBC yellow pads to finished off in the back. This year I'll be running Brakeman #3 all around. Would that prevent the issue?

They do make it in 19" but stock size is 345/30ZR19 but shows it as 335/30R19. Not sure if thats going to make a difference. So I'll be paying more for the Kumho on the fronts by $6 each but less for the rears by $40 each so $68 savings.

run a less agressive pad in the rear if your having locking issues back there and re-check your rear settings like snowxracer said , , if this is happening while trail braking not much can be done about it .. that would be a normal occurance that you just have to deal with , if its on a straight section that fairly smoothing approaching a corner then try the brake idea first , as its the most cost effective , those sticky tires might just cover up most of that as well

Hmmm well I decided that I'm running Kumho's V700's maybe that will help alot. I have a winter party to go to this weekend and alot of the viper league racers will be there and I'm sure they can give me some answers too. I want to run 335's all around with Kumho's v700. I seen that quite a few comp coupe guys runs those otherwise its 315 front and 335 rears. Depends on the drivers feeling I'm guessing.

As for my brakes, My front ones are alot more agressive vs. my rear. Its just almost the same as stock grippage from the research I've done. They are the EBC on the rears. Made a big difference when I switch to brakeman #3 for my fronts.

Hmm.. Lots of smack talking in this thread towards the beginning! I seem to remember a certain day at the Autobahn, Full Course, in which this Ford Escort Station Wagon seemed to be causing problems for a couple Vipers. Seems that the econobox wagon must've had some sort of radioactive anti-performance field, because when it got within a car length of a Viper, the viper somehow lost 800hp and let the wagon go by. Then proceeded to not be able to stick with the wagon after a couple of corners.

hmm...strange. And I think the wagon had less than 175whp, and was on some skinny 205 tires on dinky little 15's...

I got some info from the comp coupe guys that I got to put the stock pads back on the rear. I asked if I put race tires on, would that help? Nope still would do the same. I just have to go more agressive pad on the front to make the brake bias better. The more agressive pad on the front would have a different compound and I can't put the stocks back on because it would shake when pressing on the brakes. It brakes very well with the stocks in the rear.

I'm glad that it lands on a saturday so I should be there.

As for me, probably next weekend I'll be pulling my Viper out of storage. I just found some wheels from a Comp Coupe. Forgeline VR1's 18x11 and 18x13. Got a sweet deal on barely used Hoosier R6 set and Kumho V700 set!! Will be getting a tune that should gain me around 20-25rwhp with the mods on it.

I found some Eurotech rotors that would save me a total 40lbs but for the price of $1700. Maybe next year. The wheels will save me about 35-40lbs over my stock ones. It would be sweet to get 80lbs of just rotation mass!!! Might be able to get the rotors if I go to my old job that I was making the good bucks but might be short-term. So will find that out tomorrow on my lunch.

So when can we register BHF?!

Thanks! I might just put caps in to give it about 1/2" drop to close the gap but can't go any lower since they stick out abit farther. Tom, for sure let me know about the numbers. Thats what PCA always run and makes the car look cleaner for good pictures IMO.

Devlish, I totally forgot that you do that!! As soon as Tom finds out, I'll let you know what I need. I'm sure you know but need vinyl stickers.

yeah, i put some vinyl on my car last year for BHF, better than magnets at high speed tracks. i plan to remove it after the event this year though! ha

Yeah don't lower them. It messes up the handling. Put it back to stock ride height and get it corner weighted. Then a good race alignment.

I almost wish I had a set of 15x7's that would fit my AE86... I'd mount up the Hoosier R3S04's I've got on my escort wheels just to see what happens. I probably won't even change tires this weekend though, unless my tension rods come in, and I get them installed and the car aligned in time.

Theoretically, with the new rods, I can adjust my caster a bit better, which should allow for better turn-in, less steering effort, and clearance of the bumper, so I don't need to remove it to fit the 225/50 r-comps.
