It's official. Written on the calender tonight. Race season ends. Thursday Dec. 3rd 2009

Weather report:

1/4 inch of snow accumulation on the roads.
1/2 inch of salt accumulation on the roads.

I bet the road crews were chomping at the bit to spread their salt misery on just about every road in Stevens Point. Grrrrrr.

Since 2001 I've been keeping records and 2009 has been a new record long season. And a good season it was.

I'm sure I'll get a lot of this from people:

Oh I can remeber just 5 years ago in Point you couldn't take three steps without seeing a race with some really really cool cars. Blah blah things were so much better in the past.

Keeping things in perspective 2009 was a great time on the streets. It's praise however will not come until 2014 when people will be saying: 5 years ago in Point you couldn't take three steps without seeing a race with some really cool cars.

The only down side for 2009 was the lack of a Bitch Night. Due to some really really bad behavior by people in 2008 it was not held this year. I'm not just talking about the participants, but others involved. The oiling of the road really set me off. I have an idea of who did it, but I just can't get myself to believe someone that I know would do something that incredibly stupid, but someone did do it. Mrghhhmphhh.

I got my wash and wax done just in time. I agree ultra long season. I hope we have an ultra short winter now.

I think what set 2009 apart from the rest was TT festivities. In most cases it was better than the weekend ... I love for that to turn into a tradition.

This wasn't the longest season since 01. A few short years ago (you can ask Frank) I was riding my motorcycle on my birthday Dec 14th. No snow, no salt, and I believe it was something like 50 degrees.

Who put oil on the road? Thats the coolest thing ever!

i cannot believe how much salt they laid down, TK you weren't joking about the 1/2" of salt on the road!!! but i think your 1/4" of snow was way overexaggerated. i didn't see that much accumulate anywhere.

I drove to GB on Friday and the entire truck is covered in salt dust. Good thing I don't think that salt is all that bad.
