So old. I think this was made back in like 2000. 14 second honda's were considered really fast then. It is kinda neat that "gregg" had those cars back then, that was unique then. Now the mad tyte JDM look is all the rage.
I have read online that the RHD integra shown in this show is quite the pile. Stock block, stock head, with ITB's and Nitrous. 220WHP was a lie. The guys on honda-tech hate this guy.
I remember seeing this video before I even had my liscense, I won't lie it got me all excited because it was "real". After I could drive, I heard about some weekly meeting place in stevens point where people would meet up then go race. I remember having a car full of people, making the trip over to stevens point not knowing what to really expect. As I approached the intersection near shopko, I could already see a crowded parking lot. I was expecting to see maybe 10 cars, but was caught off gaurd to see at least 50. Everyone in my car was silent as we pulled into the lot, there were cars everywhere. By far the fullest I have ever seen. We got out of my jetta, and awkwardly walked around some of the cars parked there. As we walked around a loud rev was let out, and an S2000 came cruising in the lot, with another loud rev I could here it was boosted and I was in awe.We were soon approached by a mechanic looking guy with long hair, and a hat. He said his name was rayome. He seemed like the guy who was organizing all the people. He told me to follow his honda out of the parking lot and we would go to the "spot". Just like in a movie everyone left the lot at once, and I scrambled to the car looking to follow the honda to this supposed "spot". After the shuffle in the parking lot, we made our way through town, driving a bit faster than I was comfortable with, but I had to keep up, or I would be left behind. We were on the highway, a group of 20 or more cars. Out of nowhere a motorcycle comes flying up and spilts the cars in front of me, then again another bike comes zooming by cutting between the cars while doing a wheelie. I am simply jawdropped with all of this happening, thinking it couldnt get crazier then a set of HID's is seen comming up fast. The cars ahead of me move over, and the S2000 goes flying by well into triple digit speeds. We reached the spot, and I watched some matches.I continued to come to point every weekend after that, but each time I came it got progressivly worse. To this day I have never expierenced anything like that. It blew my mind at the time. I just felt like sharing a story that this show reminded me of.

You just don't come around at the right times. Sometimes and many times after that night you speak off, it has been "packed" with 50+ cars. I'm not a huge street racing person, but it's fun to line em up and see what happens.

Haha, good story, good times! Don't feel bad, I've been watching it get worse for 8+ years now. Getting older sucks, I kinda miss driving like a jack ass all the time, but I like have my DL more!!!

Nice story 3 Footer. You must have picked a good night to head over to Point, but even that night I'm sure there were plenty of people complaining about how bad the car scene in Point was getting.
It's normal though. Your first uptown experience will always be your best and then as you grow used to things they will always get less and less interesting. I've been hearing this complaint since 1987.
Skill mill was the best ever. Since that shut down it has been downhill every year.

I miss Socal..... When I was stationed out there (mid 90s) it was extremely popular and it drew much less attention from johnny law.

I just remembered this yesterday... I was hanging out in the Dells with some friends, and some blonde chick with a dark green camaro (4th gen, 1993-2002) and her friend, some cute brunette, drove by a couple times. One of the guys I was hanging out with really dug the blonde, so started hitting on her. Turns out good, and the girls were from Point. What happens? All four of us get in the camaro and drive to point. The brunette got dropped off at home, because she needed to work early (dangit!), and so I'm still stuck in the back seat of the camaro cruising up and down wherever we were in Point, I couldn't see squat out of the back of the car, until someone asked if we wanted to race a 'real' car.
My buddy was like, "yeah!" so we went out to some 'spot' (and I'm betting it was TK doing the starting, but I just don't have that good of a memory of the event). So, my friend wants to drive it, and the girl lets him, only he's so dumb that he has me ride along with him and tell him how to shift, even though it's an automatic. LOL!!! Totally got smoked, but I enjoyed the other car. Don't remember what it was, though, but they had to go back to their place to get it out of the garage and then bring it out to the spot. I'd have liked to stay and hang out, and check out some of the other cars at the spot, but my buddy and the blonde wanted to leave, so I got to ride in the back of the camaro all the way back to the dells. ooo boy, that was just some fun, lemme tellya.

How long ago was this? Sounds like the night a certain silver evo was suppose to race a certain yellow S2000 but decided to drive over a curb just before the event happened. lol
EDIT: Come to think of it though, I think the yellow S2000 was supercharged instead...

It was almost a year( Summer before I think) before the silver evo smoked the curb by the BP. It could have been towards the end of the season the same year too. Yeah, that sounds more like it. I think that first time I ever went to point was in early may of that year, and the evo curbed that wheel later like in september?? I was in the car when the silver evo smashed that wheel, my first time in an evo and that happend. Ah good times.

3footer, If I remember correctly your first time out was in '07? I only remember that because when I
first met you it was one of the first few times I went out.
My first time out was May 11th, 2007...a friday. I remember that because it was the day I bought
the Audi and the day I smoked a racoon on my way home from Point.

I was thinking the same thing, but Jake had a mild curb incident by BP now that I think about it. It was late in the season and the same night that Stash had his house warming party.

^ In a way I think you nailed it.
I've come to realize that the best years were the ones that had minimal cash investments, above average wrench time, and maximum competition. I had 10x more fun drag racing my 13 second probe than any of my new cars. The unknown was that much more exciting. Everyone had something different and the performance would change one weekend to the next.
To me ... heads up racing is the only kind of race worth running. Others give people the hit or spots but I'm just not into that. I don't mind doing a roll on for grins but that's the extent of my open mindedness.
Most nights I go downtown there isn't a fucking thing thats worth risking broken parts for. Especially because you can look at most cars and know what the outcome will be.
I would probably be more inclined to mod my junk if there were more cars capable of putting the hurt to the EVOs but the real drag racers are smart enough not to race on the street.
I think that's why I migrated to getting my fix on the big track. Then again the CWSCC deals with the same situation on the big tracks. Odd.

I don't think it would take much but I'm not sure he does lapping days anymore. Most of the time he does one or two time attack laps and then the car over heats.
Pretty much all those big turbo guys have oil and coolant temp issues.
