Seeing as how I will be without a DSM this spring I don't see me using this much. Its a bit overkill for an at home box, I worked as a tech for a few years so that is why I bought it. I can try to make a list of everything included if someone is genuinely interested, for now I'll let the pics do the talking. Box is in great shape, a couple scratches but nothing major. Box was purchased in 05 and sold at a retail price of 6k. The majority of the tools are Snap-on, there are a few Mac in there as well.

Every sheet of paper seen here is a weekly invoice for a $100 payment, I paid the Snap-on guy $100 a week for well over two years. So that should give you an idea of how much is invested in this. I'm not sure on the exact amount but I know it is over 12k.

Here you can see the toolbox on the top line.

I would love to have this! I wish I could afford it, but yeah seems overkill for a home garage unless you get it dirt cheap!

What kind of a price you range you looking for? I know there is a lot of money sitting there so im just kinda tryin to see what your ballpark is going to be for price.

I think 6k is a very fair price. I won't accept any less than that. I have had some interest from a few people in selling stuff individually. At this point I would sell just the tools for 3500 or the box for 3000. If I don't have any interest in that by next weekend I will start selling stuff individually.

Jeff, the reason I told you it wasn't for sale was
A. At the time I really hadn't considered selling it, it was probably your comment that made me start thinking about it though.
B. I really didn't think that you want to buy a completely disassembled car that didn't have an engine, among a variety of other shit. The only thing left in the interior was the dash(not installed) and racing seats.

I assumed you thought the car was still complete and in running condition. If you really wanted to build a DSM from shell than I apologize for not contacting you first. But I don't think you will ever convince me that you would have really bought the car.

nice screwdriver!!

maybe he's just upset that you are selling an amazing set of tools!! i sure wouldn't be selling that set unless it wasn't paid for yet.

on a side note, i'd take those pics over to MidState in Rapids, to their shop class, and start talking to the students there. i bet one of them would snatch up that complete set in a heartbeat with daddys checkbook! might even get more than the $6k for it.

If Evil really wanted this car so bad, come get it. I spoke to you on the phone and you know how much I paid for it. You have 2 days to come and get it before I stick anymore work into it. I damn well know you would not buy a car like this and that is why I bought it. So, when should I expect you with truck and trailer???

That being said, I should probably go get to work on it.... =)

Maybe I should have mentioned this earlier but I would consider trades. Crotchrocket or decent daily driver are two things that come to mind. I would entertain other offers as well, but I have no interest in atvs, dirtbikes, ect.

Value wise I know they are close, but I just could not ever in my right mind picture trading a rocket or a 6k car for a....... rolling tool box, that just blows my mind. That's probably why I have only Craftsmen tools and toolbox.

Good tools are expensive as hell, but if your job depends on them it's money you have to spend.

not to mention having the right tools can make or break your job/project. The right tools also help reduce the chances of injuring yourself.

LOL you got that right. However I have spent more money and gotten much less out of it on tickets and other crap like that. Atleast with tools you have resale and something to show for it.

So you would then being selling the box to your friend? I would much prefer cash, I'm looking at buying a house and would like some extra cash for the down payment. I'll give you a $100 referral bonus if you(or anybody for that matter) finds me a cash buyer. I'm not totally ruling out the bike as a trade, I'd just like to hold out for a while to see if I can just sell it for cash.

fair enough... i'll direct him your way... my thought process was this: you want bike, i want cash. it works out good for both of us, but i don't really want to sell my bike just yet either! ha. so i'll direct him your way in the meanwhile.

Alright. The bike idea sound really good at first, figured I'd keep it for a little while they sell it. After I thought about paying taxes, registration, insurance, ect I realized I would probably take a bigger lose in the end than I would like. I'll still consider it an option though.

Unless there would be a loan involved, put "trade" as the selling price on the registration. No sales tax on a trade. That's what I did with my bike, F U Wisconsin sales tax!

You are "supposed to" put down the value of what you are trading is what the dmv told me.

good price for the box but kind of high on the tool side... alot of space inbetween the tools

Considering he paid over 6 for the box alone, I think $0 for all the tools seems like a decent deal. Now I just need to convince him to sell me the tools for $0... hmm... this could be tricky.

Apparently you haven't priced out Snap-on tools. There is more money invested in the tools than the box. I only added up my Snap-on invoices, that doesn't include the Mac tools or other random stuff in there. Considering they are lifetime warranty I would consider less than 50% of retail I consider it a damn good deal.

I think I would do like Devlish said....check with the schools and possibly other service centers. Someone there would be smart enough to jump all over that deal. Hell .... maybe even talk to the snapon guy and see if he can provide any leads.
