I have a conical air filter that will bolt right on the MAF of a 2G DSM or EVO. This filter has about 50 miles on it. After putting it on the car I realized I do not like the loud swooshing and BOV sound. Made my car sound like the supra in fast n furious! Even though it is heavy... I prefer the quiet stock air box. This one is shaped exactly like the MAF and doesn't require any adapters known for screwing up the air flow and MAF readings.
Check out your filter if its dirty it probably isn't going to come clean. If you have one that needs an adapter... dump that thing quick!
