So were going to tray our hands at putting on a road rally.
Saterday Nov. 7th
What is it? Point to Point rally race
Who can win? Closest to Pre-Determined time
Where? starting in Menomonie, WI
Cost? $5 per car, with 2-4 people per car.
What can I win? First place is 50% of entry money
So the more cars that enter, the more money you can win!

I hope this works out well.
We will pick out a set of 5 or so check points around the Menomonie and Knapp country side. About a 2 min interval between each car. It will start at Dunn county Rec park.
Everyone will get a basic map of the area to pick the best route.

Fastest time to the predetermined time wins.
Must obay all traffic laws of the road.

How long?? The rally itself can take anywhere from 45 min to 1 hour 15 min, depending on your driving style
We will be grilling out after words.
Hopefully some of you come out and try to make this a hit

I will be competing I am excited. Several members who are not competing will choose the check point locations to make it fair.

no gps or cell phones

questions? email stoutac@uwstout.edu or Will at 715-617-6243

No closed off roads, its advertised as a fun way to drive point to point and make it to the finish, closest to the predetermined time. So the "challange" is to find all the locations and finish closest to X amlount of time.

I think there may be a under the table compition as well....

Either way I plan on being there.

Its a "legal" race. Speed if you wish, but you also have to make it to the destination.....get pulled over, get screwed for finishing time. They have to put "obey traffic laws" so its not a liability and not actually considered a race. But we all know it will be a race lol

^ exactly!

So anyone want to go? I plan on going with Ron, Ron drives and I navigate.

sounds interesting. Cash prize for 'closest to predetermined time', but maybe just bragging rights for 'fastest time'... ?

aka TSD (Time, Speed, Distance) Rally.

Hmm.... What to drive.......

well the rally is for closest to predetermined time, cash prize is for that to, Jake Neuman just wants to have fastest time, but were not allowing it, since that would mean breaking the rules of the road. so like he said, its more of just bragging rights if you want to go for it, but if anything happens to you(ticketed) we are not liable

andy u jackass, im the one that declared it wasnt going to be fastest time, i didnt want to post this poster bc it still says fastest time and we have to get rid of that statement.

We did something like this a couple years ago with a bunch of e30 guys. The roads up there are awesome... lots of twisties with elevation changes and everything! I actually won that one. :)

WOW! For being kinda unorganized(first year) this was really fun. The paved roads were almost all country roads, very winedy, and pretty fast. I ended up coming in w/ the 3rd fastest time, beaten by an M3 with a crazy ass driver and not sure who else.

I had a great time at this event. Good turnout for a first time event. I must say stout has the most badass roads I have seen in wisconsin, super fun.

So the pre determined time was an hour and 20mins, and the car with the fastest time made it in 40mins flat. Ahhhh! that M3 was cruising. I was navigator on team VW, and we pushed the 2.0 8v powered car hard and only managed a hour and 8 mins. I have no clue how the bmw made such fast time....crazy asses.

The rally was suprisingly organized, very well put togther, and just a pure fun time. I cannot wait till the next event. The galant will be there no doubt.

GPS, crazy illegal driving (passing in no passing zones and shoulders), and not giving a F#*$ about any laws lol.....that's how they got that time.

I was behind them for 2 stages, and it was hard to keep up. They said they were going 140 on some parts!

i hit 120 once or twice before my pressure plate got roasted
