Do helmets need to be DOT, Snell, or both? I don't remember from last year.

yes, for FVSCC events DOT is all that is needed. If you were going to anyother event it has to be Snell 2000 or better i think?

If it's an scca event, the helmet needs to be Snell SA2005. Note the different SA and M ratings. M is for motorcycles, atv's, and the likes and the SA is for all other motorsports involving cars, racecars, trucks, whatever. Completely different testing procedures on both ratings. M is crash rated and the SA involves a series of impacts, flame resistance and whatever you would find in the most devistating race crashes.

Had a freaking blast on the track, had a not so great ride home!
At the end of the event I went to swap my tires out. Go to take the lug nuts off the front drivers side and wtf.. only 1 will come off. It felt like they were going to break off so I reluctantly opted to ride home with the race rubber on the car. About 10 miles away from home Steph calls me and says, "hey I think my lug nuts are coming loose, can you pull over and check them out?" So I pull over in a business driveway on the side of hwy54. Check the lugs.. no problems there. Hop back in the EVO, drive about 200 and feet and I hear this odd sound, and odd smell and feeling.. like sure shit my tire is flat. Of course it's the tire/rim that the studs/lugs are giving me issues. Needless to say here is how things went down after that.

Well, I was not crazy. There was something wrong with my tire. At first I thought it was my lugs coming loose again like they did earlier in the day. Nick and I checked when we first pulled over and they were fine...

So after Nick's tire incident we got into my car and started driving. I told him to listen to that side of the car because it just did not sound right. Sure enough he made me pull over and checked the tire. Here is what it looked like

Np. I think Dizmm did a better job than GSW at drifting the car. Loved the ride when you and TK were playin chase. The tires were still hot after sitting for 10 minutes before my next run. Really fun to have another car, "Slowball", out there that mine is pretty much matched to. Neither one could pull away from the other.

And then there was the 2 corner drift straddling the rumble strips. Best. Corner. Ever.

Slowball's going to be returned to Snowball once the crystalline precipitation arrives. It was kinda fun to drive around the track, but I can see that as being SUPER fun on the ice/snow/gravel. Pro-Montana will have a good adversary!!

mazdaspeed Miata's are fun cars, but holy stinking tiny!! I got to take Hutch's for a few laps. all the pedals are too close together. the top of the windshield should be ABOVE a person's eyeline....

I wasn't there but I'd guess and hope that whoever was driving was smart enough to get the Genesis as far away from the rest of the cars as possible.

I told Tom that it was pretty close but I thought that Steph might have had me by a tiny bit. NOT a "beat down" as you said when you got out of her car afterwards. We both left a gap. It doesn't matter if there is a gap it only matters if the gap increases.
