lol Yeah, just might work.... I think you'd have to glue 2 2nd gens together for 1 first gen radio, the 1gs are double-DIN (some) and the 2gs are single-DIN. But it would still be better than what I have.

the 2g has a double din opening though doesn't it? and if i'm not mistaken the mounting brackets are the same, the trim is not though.

The top DIN slot is where the headunit is/was and the bottom DIN slot there's a pocket type of thing. I think you're thinking of 1st gens. And what the hell, I can try and put a 1g deck in there, lol.

yes, there's a pocket... that is removable. making it a 2din
