ok, lets talk exhaust here in the tech section. From headers and turbo manifolds, to porting housings, to cat-backs and shitty catylitic converters.

Looking to do a true dual exhaust on my f-bird. Now what are the gains from a h pipe or x pipe? Ive heard some here and there about better scaveging?

the plan is to go with 2.5" tubing to keep it wide open for future mods into a x pipe or h pipe depending, and into some turbo muffler of some kind. now i wanna keep my low end tq but i also would like to pick up some top end snarl.

So thats what i want to do, lets talk exhaust, what are the benifits and cons of different exhaust systems.?
What about exhaust pipe tunning? like they do in the big bucks racing? what is involved in something like this?

X pipe is the way to go. Size depends on what kind of HP numbers you are pushing and what your future plans are. Mufflers depend on what kind of sound you are looking for.

Most important thing about exhaust is to make everything flow without abrupt bends or obstructions. Exhaust flows in pulses and if you do things right you can use the pulses to help pull each other along and help pull the exhaust out of the cylinder down the exhaust and out.
