i fucking love when UPS drops off over $1500 dollars worth of shit in your drive way then just leave and dont tell you its there. when i ordered rims and tires they just put them outside my appartment for anybody to take. glad i saw him from the porch.

I love it when people don't play their cards right...
i would have waited til he left, brought them inside. then kept my mouth shut for 2 weeks!! called the shipper, and asked where they were. when they track UPS and say they were delivered, ask to see the signature of delivery from the drop off.
wow. coulda had a free set of tires/rims. dummy move on your part to rush out and get them... just watch them til he drives away.

I think you got it backwards. I've never ever enjoyed autoxing. Driving around orange cones as is about is gay as it gets. I go to a few events each year just to see if anything has changed or if there are any great drivers. It's like VPT said there's no challenge on race rubber and its always the same folks with expensive high horsepower cars and sticky tires. That takes what little fun there is out of the picture completely.
Back in the day I was calling VPT out to drag race in his drag car but gas was always too expensive!
I am happy the VPT talked me out of going to MAM and BHF. I didn't miss it not even one little bit! And now I have an extra $1000 pocket!!!

The challenge is taking, say, a 20+ year old car, making sure it's in as close to good working order as you can, and seeing just how close you can get to the same times as those new expensive uber-tuned beasts. The REAL fun part is when you actually post faster times than they do. And I'd definitely like to see an actual time from your EVO at BHF someday. Would give me a good goal to shoot for. ;)

I agree... and that's my point. I rarely ever do that autox bs and I still always have a top 5 raw time. I don't drive close to the cones cause I don't like cone marks, I don't launch my car cause I don't like broken parts, and up until recently I ran very little camber and nearly stock suspension.
Then there's the shit VPT likes to talk about.... the course can influence results. These events are set up by EVO/STI owners so they're often configured to be AWD friendly. Additionally organizers often take multiple test laps before they decide to run their back to back hot laps. Fun for them but unfair for others.
Should have come to Blackhawk Evil. Want to see what kind of time that EVO of yours can put down.
I am curious about my hotlap times myself. I'm researching the trackmate setup. That uses GPS to determine lap times and vehicle behavior. I feel that will be more meaningful than a cold tire dead stop lap time. I like the idea of having toy to log my runs. It would be neat to see exit speeds and cornering G-forces. Maybe I'll use the $1000 I saved this weekend to buy it!

I do love lapping days but I plan to be picky about them for awhile. The 4 hour drive to Autobahn took the edge off of my enthusiasm for long distance trips. It also exposed some area's that I need to address before visiting tracks that require 5th gear. I don't want to be like the other EVO's with a grinding tranny. I don't mind bleeding brakes and throwing on race rubber at home but transporting extra wheels and swapping them at the track is a downer. I also hate wearing a helmet.

Thats complete shit. AWD friendly course, haha!!! What course isn’t AWD friendly. At speeds under 50mph AWD is always going to have more traction then 2wd no matter what the course layout.
