The "newly rebuilt" trany they put in my car two weeks ago broke. No more Drive. thankfully the shift kit still worked so I could drive it home in 2nd. Fucker is going to try charging me to fix it when I go to bitch just you watch.
I have learned my lesson.
I hear good things about d&d all the time.

D&D sucks! Why would you have them do your CAMARO tranny, when their own CAMARO DRAG CAR only runs 19's?????????

Have they ever given a quote on a job and then stuck to it?
They always undercut to get you in and then overcharge when done.
I took my car in for a wheel bearing. $120 Great! Ended up being $240.

With their crap reputation one would think the BBB would be investigating them? Legally they cannot exceed a writen quote given to you with out prior consent. And legaly they need to be using work orders on all automotive work done. I'd call the BBB if they give you guff and the fuzz.

That's right. I'd fight that shit. If you get a written quote and they exceed that amount WITHOUT your consent, I surely wouldn't pay a dime for it beyond what I was quoted.

It's really hard to do work bad enough to make those transmissons (th350/400/whatever) break.
Wasn't there some post about D&D sucking like a year ago, or something? I think I made the requisite RPG jokes, back then, so I'm not going to now.

you people don't understand how many times that car has been washed/buffed/waxed, yet never left the driveway... if i had that much time on my hands, i'd be happy that it got wet. at least the 17 layers of wax got to serve their purpose and all that work wasn't for nothing.

I got the Camaro back. I'm confused and a little pissed off. Dave told me I would have to pay for parts but labor was free. Invoice does show that i didn't pay them labor but somehow totals 810 bux in parts.
The parts on the invoice:
Filter Kit.....20.27 (what is a filter kit on a trany?)
Drum 350/c dir no sprag hardened....138.90
44664 race 350 intermediate drum....249.69
(is this invoice to two different drums? I thought a trany only had one?)
ntermediate sprag....45.65
temp sender.....33.84 (what is this?)
trans fluid bulk....23.36
intermediate clutch spring plate....25
set intermediate red clutches...70
set direct clutched red....85
Notice to self. if something brakes again don't bother bring up warranty shit just go else where.
I'm thinking take the Camaro back and tell him to pull the trany out and keep it. Tom can you help me trailer the camaro home?

Have you paid him? Normally most shops will give you a written estimate that they will not exceed without permission. I'm not sure what kind of arrangements you made but have to stand up for yourself on this stuff.

^ then you should have been called about the extra parts BEFORE they were put into the car. there is a law about that you know, they cannot sell you parts you were not told about. well, they cannot charge you anways if they put them in without you giving them permission first.
look it up. print it out. then take it in with the money for the 3 parts you mentioned. and tell him you will NOT be back again.

I have a plan! I'm going to walk into D&D and tell Dave I need to talk for 5 minutes in his office with NO interruption. Tell him straight up that I'm not happy with his work. for 8 grand that car should be a monster and put out a lot more then 260 at the wheels. It has very bad throttle response and my buddy's stock Camaro is quick response. It bogs ALL THE TIME! and it just shouldn't happen with the money I spent. If you would like to keep my business and would like me to say good things to people that ask me about my car I expect a FREE dyno tune and get at least 330-350 at the wheel because I know with that setup it can do it.
